Svaha Spirit Series~The Sartorialist
One of my favourite sites to visit is The Sartorialist. Its like people watching from a park bench only I can do it from anywhere by the comfort of my lap top. Scott Schumann takes photos of people he comes across on the streets of New York. Or Seoul, or Florence, or whatever city he is in with his camera. He has a fashion background and definitely has a flare for good photography. His passion for fashion and his ease behind the camera blend perfectly. ( Also I like to check to see if my step-daughter, Lisa, has had her picture taken. She lives part time in New York and so you just never know.)
I hadn’t known the man behind The Sartorialist until I saw this video. And now I like the site even more after hearing his story.
“It’s almost like letting yourself fall in love a? little bit everyday” he says about his creative outlet. How great is that!?

First thing I have to say is he’s a fantastic photographer. I’ve been visiting his site for a few years and love how he picks random, yet interesting subjects to shoot. He doesn’t style them like regular fashion photographers might do. They’re just standing there, or sitting or walking, but he always finds a way to capture a confident, cool attitude. People just being, just going about their day, while wearing clothes that tell their story. Personality, whatever that is.
He’s cute, too, in a ‘Lance Armstrong without the doping scandal and before I knew he broke up with Sheryl Crow and lost my respect’ kinda way.

I love seeing a great photographer capture everyday happenings. It’s another form of Art and who doesn’t love looking at great pictures! I know I do.
