This lack of data reveals how pervasively girls have been overlooked. For millions of girls across the developing world, there are no systems to record their birth, their citizenship, or even their identity.

Some videos are so powerful they leave me stunned, silent, deep in thought. This is one of them. I get it. At first I thought “Hey, what about boys?” but it’s true; changing the way girls are perceived or treated in the developing countries IS what’s going to have the biggest effect, make the biggest change. I guess Oprah’s school for girls is on the right track but more needs to be done. But how? Any ideas?
