Svaha Spirit Series ~ Keep Flying!
I was searching around for something inspiring for today’s post. “Searching around” means I can get caught up online going from one story to another for hours on end. I followed a link to this video not believing I’d be inspired by it but just to see what kind of crazy lady would want to be a flight attendant as long as this woman has been. I did the job myself for the better part of one decade and was glad to step out of the uniform when I did (although I miss those free tickets to anywhere). I was prepared to watch this and let out a big “Phht! What a crazy woman!” but I didn’t. I actually did find inspiration in her story. She loves her job and always has. Despite her age she is vibrant and strong and obviously full of energy. I wouldn’t slot her amongst those I’ve referred to as “sky hags” because those are the flight attendants that are miserable and cranky and old that make you wonder why they are still working when they so obviously hate it. (I got out before I became one of those by the way)
So good for you Norma! Keep up the good work and keep flying! (Better you than me)

You wouldn’t go back to flying Bon? You would still be great at it! Maybe you should consider it? I’d come fly with you! xo
Norma certainly loves her job, wonder if she’s a member of the mile high club? lol That never made sense to me! It’s a BATHROOM! lol

Isn’t that why they supply pillows and blankets, so you don’t have to use the bathrooms.lol

I had to do the math because I couldn’t believe she’s 74 and yet still seems so young! I guess that’s what you get for doing something you love.
She comes from a special breed that believes in good, honest hard work. Never missed a day in her career! Sounds impossible but I have to imagine it’s true. They must give out awards for that – or bonus flights!
I love stories like this that showcase regular special people who stand out in their fields. Keep finding them, Bonnie!
