Searching For Colour in February
So we are well into February now. It’s dull. It’s grey. There doesn’t seem to be any colour anywhere I look. February always feels like the longest month of the year to me even though it’s the shortest. This is the month I always dread, except for one thing. It’s “Tracy Day” on the 14th. Some of you may think of the 14th as a day of love or Valentines day. To me it is a day to celebrate my friend and her colourful character. The day of her birth…all those many, many years ago. Its fun at this age to tease her about being older than me (four whole months!) but I remember when she could go into a bar legally and I, feeling like a child, couldn’t. I so envied her maturity then. Funny how things change (See: Tracy Questions Her Maturity) – or don’t. These days I feel smug about being “younger”. How mature is that!
This year we have the Olympics to help put some colour into February. My usual uniform for this month is black sweaters and jeans but I’m putting my Team Canada bright red and white jersey on starting this Friday for the opening ceremonies. (Party at my house y’all!) The games should help get us through some of the dull blahness of February.
Although still entrenched in winter, there is beauty to be found in this month. Even in the rain!

I hope you will feel inspired to look past February’s foggy greyness and find something colourful to focus on instead.
Svaha!

What a wonderful way to start the day! I came home sick as you know barely getting kids to school wanting to just climb back into bed, but we all know if there is a computer within 100 meters of me I can’t help myself and log on or bookmark our page if it’s a computer in London Drugs or elsewhere and then read the morning post. It’s not only an addiction to write but I am also addicted to reading Bonnie and Jakes morning words! Thanks Bon Bon, I only have until Sunday to be the same age and then comes our annual back and forth about you being younger…yes we have matured haven’t we. To show how mature I am, I’ve told everyone we have EVER know that Bonnie is older than me! (like she didn’t know) Thanks for the big smile on a day it was really really needed Bon! I love you! What great pictures those are! T xoxo off to bed I go with a smile on my face !

Spotting the colour in everyday happenings is a way of life for me. It’s out there, even on the bleakest, greyest of mornings or the blackest of nights. If you focus on that spot of brilliance you will be transported to a happier place.
Grey is a wonderful colour. It allows all the other, brighter hues to stand out. We couldn’t live without grey!

I myself, love February. There are so many birthdays in our family, including my own. 🙂 My one cousin also shares this special day with me.
I love birthdays, so February has always been my favorite month. The cold month of January is over, and with February’s sad end, comes March and knowing that spring is in site.
I think as you said, February is going to be an extra special month this year with the Olympics. I need to find some colors to show my spirit.
And a birthday on Valentines Day? You must get absolutely spoiled on your extra special day, Tracy. Very cool indeed. A week before me.
Those pics are absolutely beautiful, Bonnie. I love the two umbrella pics. The second one the most.
As for pics, I have to say I love the new icons for your social networking links. Did one of you ladies create them? Either way, they are very cool.

What’s not to LOVE about February is right Lawrence, especially now that I know it’s your Birthday too, no wonder I like you so much! 😉 I do get spoiled with Love I must say! And in my world it’s all about LOVE! That is why I chose “Finding Lyrical Beauty in Love” for this Months Header. Each month we take a turn in creating our front page header! I wish I could take credit for the icons though, those are the Artistic talent of Jacquie !! Aren’t they Fabulous !!! I just had a 2 hour nap and feel MUCH better! woot woot !

I love the pictures. Im such a sucker for photos.
I dont have any canadian gear yet but as I am going to Curling I should get some. The family is thinking about going and getting a bunch of Canada pins to hand out. Maybe I might get some flags there.
