I got up especially early this morning to chat with y’all but couldn’t log into Tara Cronica for some unknown reason, so I wandered around facebook a bit, then Newser.com, then checked out the Olympic torch relay route for today. Just wandered, aimlessly. I think I’m addicted to certain sites. I’ve heard that the average number of times people check their email is 30 times an hour. Sadly, I believe it. when I’m working on something at the computer I’m constantly checking and rechecking. I guess if I had the sound turned up it would notify me of anything new, but I like the quiet.
Newser posted a report that a Safeway store in the Washington, DC area had been left unlocked, with all the lights on, parking lot plowed and music playing. Perhaps an employee, eager to get home for the night just had a brain freeze and left without doing a final lockup? Well, security cameras show many shoppers surprised to find the store unmanned but continued with their business and left money near the tills. Isn’t that wonderful. I’d heard a similar story back in December or beginning of January (a Safeway store as well!) in Los Angeles and the same thing happened! These are the stories that restore our faith in humanity. It’s what you do when you think no one’s looking that determine your character.
This is sort of linked to that last comment; I was told recently by someone who knows more about electronics than I do that you should always keep your webcam pointed away from the room when not in use. There are hackers who can get into your computer and spy on you when you don’t realize it’s on. Is this true? Was I being punked?
We had a bit of rain in town yesterday. I hope that means Cypress got some snow for the halfpipe and other Olympic snowboarding events. I worry too much about things I have no control over! lol! I’m sure it’ll be perfect.
I’m going to pop my latte in the microwave for 30 secs as I’ve been ignoring it, then get out my painting gear for a few hours. Crank up the tunes and enjoy the day my way. Have a good one, toute le monde!

Cool ! Kind of like leaving your name and number on a car that you bump in a parking lot when no one is around to see what happened.
Makes me feel good that we have some integrity in our lives. Sooooo Important !
Exactly! Great example, Rick!
We all have to live with ourselves so we better be good company.
I have heard the same thing about the webcam.
Good to know that there are honest people out there – enjoy your painting day
Perfect day for indoors!
Creepy if someone can hack into your webcam.
Good thing once I close my laptop it is off.
I bet I check the same sites, all in order, about 20 times per day.
