My Word…

images

Your word is a reflection of who you are. We all need to stop making promises we can’t keep. Where have the days gone when our word meant something? Even the traditional handshake has taken a turn to weakness. ‘Lets shake on it’is no more. A solid handshake insinuates strength, just as a weak one leaves you slightly disappointed. When you reach out and grasp the palm of another, you are engaging in a silent formal agreement, an extension of your word.

As a child, the word of an adult was the gospel. Pinky Swear mimics our handshake, sealing the deal of a child. As a grown up you never wanted to let down the innocent mind and hopeful child looking deeply at you. Why as adults do we feel it acceptable to speak without actions.

I understand that things change, people make choices that can spin a promise right off its foundation. We often set out with good intention but along the way we get side tracked with that something shiny, that takes us in a direction we didn’t see coming. Our word slips through the cracks of the foundation we so easily let crumble. A foundation that took years to build. We need to think about our words before we release them to the Universe and initiate the hope said within them.

Vows are not what they used to be. I am not sure if it is a generational thing or whether some people take them to heart more than others. Kept promises are becoming a thing of the past. Our word is written in pencil so easily erased on the pages we try to write. We lack focus. We have much to distract us.

If we all take a moment to think about the words we release to those who have hope and faith in us, maybe we can change the way a promise is kept. Maybe then our handshakes will have more strength and our words more meaning.

When promises continually get broken we start to believe we are not worthy of that promise. Those who do give their word with full intention of following through lose faith in those who so easily and thoughtlessly release promises without the thought or meaning behind them.

For our words to have strength they need to start from within. We need to know who we are and what we want to allow them to take on the meaning and strength they were meant to have. We need to be honest, know our truth, and be unafraid to express it. Promises will then come in time when they are ready to be released.

I give you my word that what I write and what I say to you are words I can shake on. I mean what I say and say what I mean, do you?

Love and the Chance of Rejection

The Universe works in mysterious ways. We live and learn. Sometimes the lesson is obvious and sometimes it isn’t. I don’t know if it’s years of auditioning that gave me the tools to not take rejection too personally, but I’m glad I don’t. (most of the time) I am human though!

Rejection is never an easy pill to swallow especially when it has to do with the opposite sex. Unlike applying for a job it isn’t as simple as you didn’t have enough experience or you can’t speak another language, it’s personal. Rejection sometimes forces us to look in the mirror and reevaluate who we are. It can deflate us for a while but also gives us time to change and grow. When we are ready, willing and able we try again. Distraction is sometime just what the doctor ordered, however it can also deviate us from the lesson we need to learn.

We have all heard the line “It’s not YOU it’s ME” and as much as I’d like to believe it isn’t ME, sometimes it is. Every now and then someone points out the not so obvious to us and we learn a few things about who we are. We can either grow and expand in that moment or we can close our eyes and believe it’s not us, it’s them! My only advice, dig deep or you’re going again! If you find yourself in the same or similar situation again and again, chances are you’re just not getting it. Dig Deeper! Nobody is perfect! We are all far from it…which is a good thing!

When we do finally relax and let go of all our baggage and issues and accept ourselves for who we are flaws and all, we have a much better chance of finding real love. When real true love comes our way, no one can stop it. There is no rejection. There is passion, want and need all mixed up in an intoxicating concoction waiting for both male and female energies to allow them to mix!

When two people meet and open their hearts to love it’s a beautiful thing. Love and taking a chance of rejection is all part of finding the right person.

I came across this on Facebook and I had to share it. Isaac definitely lifted my spirits in regard to love after watching it! Although I am not a fan of public proposals this was creative and unique! How could she possibly say no to him! I loved her reaction!

P.S ~ It’s my daughter Jordan’s Birthday today, she turns 11! She is the most beautiful little girl human on this planet! (her friends are pretty darn cute too) She is an old soul that teaches me about life each and everyday we share together. One thing I hope I have taught her is to always take a chance on love in-spite of rejection.

Take Chances in life Jo! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL! Sweet Kiss

Flirty…Serious…Flirty…Serious ~ Balance ~

If you know me well you know how carefree, flirty and friendly I am naturally. I don’t have to try hard at that part of my personality because I believe it’s just who I am. I have a deep serious side lurking in the darkness waiting to tackle the flirty chic who continues to have way too much fun! TACKLE ME FOR GOD SAKES! I have always found it hard to balance my flirty nature with my serious side. Does anyone else relate? Someone? Anyone?

I struggle at times to find the balance between being serious and flirty, being wayyyy to comfortable with my sexuality doesn’t help. I dislike women who manipulate men with their sexuality, I don’t believe I do. I will however admit I use it, but for no specific reason or outcome just because I love the flirty sparing of words with male energy. It can however get me into a pickle if someone doesn’t know me! I joke about having Elastic Boundaries…s-t-r-e-t-c-h!  What’s a line for if not to cross?…which is fine but not when that side of my personality is predominately focused on. I am working on finding that balance right now…it’s a struggle let me tell you!

I’ve recently been told I have walls I need to take down…ya I know me? Walls? I do! I keep them up to protect my heart. It’s easier to joke and flirt than it is to fail or be rejected. I’ve taken some time lately to make some changes in my life and I am working towards being my true authentic self once again.

What I am seeking has not matched the vibration that I have been emulating. I have finally recognized a pattern that keeps appearing in front of me. A lesson if you will that I keep repeating and not quite getting!

“If you are being swept into some current that is not comfortable, or not in harmony with your desire, you must remember that couldn’t happen if you weren’t offering a vibration that matched it in some way. If you’re vibrating differently from that, you’re not having that experience”~ Abraham

“Offer a vibration that matches your desire rather than offering a vibration that keeps matching what-is.”~ Abraham

So I guess to sum what I am really trying to put out in the Universe is that deep down I know what I want in life and how I want to be viewed and for a brief time I’ve swerved off course. I was still authentic and viewed correctly but it was not a balanced collection of who I am deep down. I allowed myself to put out a vibration that was what I wanted in the moment but not in the big picture. Now it really depends on whether or not I’m looking at the big picture or the moment right here and now. Both are good! I am learning to balance each moment connecting the dots that will eventually lead me right into the centre of the big picture!

Sometimes you must walk down a path to determine what you don’t want, to identify what you do want. Life works in mysterious ways, showing us clues along the way if we are aware enough to pay attention to them!

Maybe I can just be happy with being a serious flirt…for now! Problem solved…movin on! *wink!

Svaha Spirit Series ~ Life Looks for Life

Carl Sagan was an astronomer, educator and author. He is well known for his work on the PBS series Cosmos, the Emmy and Peabody award winning show that became the most watched series in public-television history. He died in 1996 of bone marrow cancer but left a legacy that will provoke thought and wonder until the end of time. I don’t think any of us spend enough time star gazing, talking about what is beyond our world. It is a topic I don’t tire of. What is out there? Who is out there? Are we alone? The questions are endless to those who are intrigued and want more than what we can see here in front of us. I was mesmerized by this series…it left me wanting more, much much more.

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.”
Carl Sagan ~

Just Let Go ~

Sometimes you just need to just let go with both hands! You don’t need to turn your back and walk away, just loosen your grip and let it slip, whatever ‘it’ is. It might be a job that isn’t inspiring you, a new romance that can’t quite find its way, a relationship that doesn’t feel right anymore but you can’t put your finger on why, or an answer to a question that keeps eluding you. No matter what it is if you give it back to the Universe and surrender I guarantee you will feel free and untangled. Clear your mind and let go of any thoughts that relate to what you are questioning. Set them free. You can only do so much to make things happen in life. When you feel you have done all you can it’s time to just let go.

After you let go you can look at what you set free with a clearer understanding. It will start to make more sense once you create some distance. Your mind can subconsciously process what it needs to without all the internal dialog interrupting constantly. It’s the same as when you can’t remember a name so you put it out of your mind and when you least expect it the name comes rushing back making you blurt it out loud. Have some faith in the magic of the Universes power. Sometimes things happen for reasons unclear to us. We need time to see why we didn’t walk down the path we thought was ours.

Trust your instincts! Do what feels right for you. You might be questioned from those standing on the side lines but again loosen your grip and let them slip! No one knows what’s best for you better than YOU! Staying true to yourself is all that matters in the end.

We get influenced by our fear of not having or doing what others perceive is right for us. We fear losing what we ‘had’ more than we have the insight to see what is ahead. ‘What-ifs‘ start to drift through our thoughts like the boogie man whispering…“careful there may not be another.” Don’t listen! What ever you let go of there will always be another ready to take its place whether it be a job, romance, sailboat, car, motorcycle, airplane ect. However, there is not another you so make you happy and all else will follow. In the end it either wasn’t meant to be or what you let go of will find its way back to you when the time is right.

There is always another romantic notion to ponder, job to explore, relationship to build or any other idea you let go of. When you have the courage to let go of something that doesn’t make you feel good or true to yourself, you are empowered by your action.

Just let go…and be  ~

P.S..as you all know I receive Postcards from Gusto. I couldn’t NOT share this mornings with you…funny right? Check it out! Timing is truly everything ~

Past-Present-Future = Now!

When will we learn to let go of our past? Now is so much more important. Why is history so important to some of us? Does it keep us in our comfort zone? I think so. Years ago a relationship I thought I’d let go of kept seeping back into my life. Just as I would forget and move on it would reappear somehow. Was it the hopeless romantic in me wanting my fairy tale ending? Was it the Universe testing me? Unresolved romance? It can be hard to let go of what was then and concentrate on what is now. Does anyone else relate to this? We can sometimes live in what was. The key is not to get ‘stuck’ in our past especially if it wasn’t a healthy one! Fortunately mine was.

No matter how good you recall a relationship was you moved on or they did for a reason…right? Or was the timing just not quite right? Do we only remember the good? Is that so bad?

I’ve learned first hand that when you focus on the past you stay in the past preventing you from seeing what’s right in front of you. When you bring the past into the present is that living in the Now? Technically maybe and that’s fine if your past was good. If you bring negative energy into the now your just recreating more negative energy.

When you look back do you feel any regret? Do we like to revisit our past from time to time to ensure we have moved on without any regret or do we slip back into what was? I have small regret but nothing on a grand scale that makes me cringe thankfully. Maybe that’s why I like to float back in time.

I love my past and maybe that’s why I have a hard time letting it go at times. I think past, present and future are all good. I think we all like to revisit our past from time to time. It can be a healthy part of our life. I certainly wouldn’t want to be stuck in my past. Being able to balance our past with the present is ideal. Holding onto elements of where we came from helps keep us grounded. Looking back on where we were tells a lot about who we are.

Life is about learning. We need life experience to have growth and unfold as human beings. As long as we move forward in life I think it’s all good. Sometimes I think it’s beneficial to step back in time if for no other reason than as a reminder of how far we’ve come. Our past is what makes us who we are in our present. Any way you look at the past-present-future they = Now. And there is no better place on earth than right here, right now ~
