Awakening is something that happens that is as unique to each of us as our DNA. We all experience it differently. Becoming aware is the first step. Spiritual awakening is like coming home. Some of us take longer than others, it’s not something you can force or rush.
I’ve experienced changes that have made me feel like I am finally becoming who I am meant to be, I know where I want to go as Jim Carrey said. I love this side of Jim Carrey! It’s easy to lose touch and get wrapped up in our busy lives, as long as we find our way back. I’ve learnt to just relax, not worry, what’s meant to be will be. I don’t create circumstances that go against myself. And I live in the Now! I found this video and thought it summed it up quite nicely! Enjoy ~
My Mom sent this to me and it made me laugh. I hope I still have my weird sense of humor when I’m 72! Chances are I will as it seems to run in the family! In the very attractive picture I used, the left side of my face has been aged by a make-up artist to make me look in my 70’s. I thought it was fitting! Makes me want to create a few more exciting life experiences while I can! Keep in mind (any potential suitors) that I have NO make-up on and I’ve had the mole with hair in it on my chin removed since this photo! And I would never normally wear grey – it sucks the life and colour right out of ya! lol 🙂 There is no better way to remind yourself to live with no regrets than to see what you would like in your golden years! Kinda makes me want to go out and do something naughty! hee hee!
“A friend of the couple who founded ‘Home Instead Senior Care’, Mary Maxwell was asked to give the invocation at the company’s 2009 Convention. Initially it seemed like a normal prayer, but it soon took a very funny turn. Her deadpan delivery and lines like …This is the first time I’ve ever been old… and it just sort of crept up on me … soon had the franchise owners rolling in the aisles. With the timing of a professional comedian, Mary shines a very funny light on the foibles of aging, to the delight of this audience of senior-care experts.” (quoted from the video site)
Blessed In Aging
Blessed are they who understand my faltering step and shaking hand.
Blessed who know my ears today must strain to hear the things they say.
Blessed are those who seem to know my eyes are dim and my mind is slow.
Blessed are those who look away when I spilled tea that weary day.
Blessed are they who with cheery smile stopped to chat for a little while.
Blessed are they who know the way to bring back memories of yesterday.
Blessed are those who never say “You’ve told that story twice today.”
Blessed are they who make it known that I am loved, respected and not alone.
And blessed are they who will ease the days of my journey home, in loving ways.
~Esther Mary Walker
I love hearing stories from older generations of what things were like when they were younger. We are all the same, just some are a little farther ahead on their path in life. Enjoy each moment at what ever age you find yourself!
Thanks Mom for sending another inspiring message! xo love you!
People really are awesome, some even extraordinary! Some people are just born fearless, they don’t know how NOT to push the limits or boundaries that are all around them. Maybe it’s just that their boundaries aren’t elastic but that they are so far away they don’t even see them?
There seems to be a fine line between fearless and stupid though, I am not a fan of anything Jack-Ass-ish and even for me this is right on the edge. I can’t help but think of the training process to get to this point. I think you have to agree though that these individuals have courage! Watch this and you will see what I am talking about! Enjoy ~
There is nothing greater than laughter and more appealing than our furry or feathered friends. I grew up watching National Geographic and could watch animal shows for hours! Here is nature, animals and laughter combined! I came across BBC Talking Animals one night and couldn’t stop watching, there are many! They made me giggle into the wee hours of the night, so I hope you do too!
Everyone enjoys a good blonde joke don’t they? Well maybe not blondes but anyways…I saw this the day after I got a few more blonde highlights put in my hair. My girlfriend Carri also went blonder after being brunette for the last year, maybe blondes really do have more fun.
I’ve been blonde, brunette, auburn, purple and a few colours in between. I don’t recall any colour in particular being more fun. No offence to all the beautiful blonde women out there!
Just to be fair I will tell you a brunette joke. Q. Why are brunettes so proud of their hair?
A. It matches their moustache.
I found this video while I was browsing through one of my new favourite websites, Spirit Library. It’s Jim Carrey discussing very opening his life-long pursuit for meaning and purpose. I love seeing this side of him! He is humble and sincere with his trademark humour thrown in for a laugh here and there.
I read two of Eckart Tolle’s books, The Power of Now and The New Earth a couple of years ago and felt just the same as Jim did after reading them. If you would like either of these books just click on the title and it will take you where you need to go!
First I would like to wish all the Wonderful Dads a Happy Father’s Day! Enjoy your day doing what ever it is you love to do! Happy Father’s Day Dad, I love you!
K.D. Lang sung Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, which was one of my favourite parts of the opening ceremonies. What a voice this woman has! Lang also sang it when Cohen was being inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2006.
Of that rendition, Cohen’s partner, singer Anjani Thomas, said: “After hearing K.D. Lang perform that song at the Canadian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2006 we looked at each other and said, “Well, I think we can lay that song to rest now! It’s really been done to its ultimate blissful state of perfection.” I couldn’t agree more, enjoy!
When I created May’s header and theme ‘Finding Lyrical Beauty in… Change’,it was meant to reflect all the changes that are happening in my life right now. I have never feared change. Change is a fresh start, a new beginning which moves you forward in life. It allows room for growth. Whether change was a new bedroom growing up after another move, a new friend or pair of shoes, I never looked at what I had before as a loss but what I gained with each change.
Tara Cronica is going to start undergoing some Change. We are unfolding and expanding all the time. Our first change will start today!
I will be sharing my voice on Wednesday and Thursday. Bonnie will grace the pages on Friday and Saturday, and Jacquie will get personal on Monday and Tuesday! Sunday will remain the same with our Svaha Spirit Series which we all add our voice to. We have decided to each take two consecutive days which will give each of us a little more freedom. We can change our post or leave it for you an extra day!
Tara Cronica is one of my passions and I can’t tell you how much positive energy it has added to my life, I hope you feel the same! So here’s to Tara Cronica and Finding Lyrical Beauty in …Change.
As you all know a friend of mine Ryan Ennis is in Africa taking a course to be a Safari Guide. If you haven’t already checked out his blog ‘Ryan In Africa’ you really should, it’s as close as some of us will ever get to being in the wild. I would love to go visit Ryan to see for myself what Africa has to offer, perhaps one day I will. For now YouTube and RIA’s blog will have to suffice. I came across this video and can see how this would appeal to some, not many (lol) but some as we see here. Animal behaviourist Kevin Richardson has struck up a remarkable friendship with an entire pride of lions in South Africa. But check out Ryan’s post ‘Good morning Mr. Whiskers’ to see what most thrill seekers experience when in the company of a pride of lions!
Sky’s Africa Correspondent Emma Hurd reports.
Here is another I just had to add, it shows that although we can live among wild animals their instincts are still deep within them. Enjoy ~
Our Svaha Spirit Series is meant to be Inspirational. I love music and was inspired while watching Annie Lennox’s video ‘Sing’. To quote directly from her website SING, “When people get together to sing, they become encouraged and inspired.” Isn’t that true! Annie Lennox teamed up with 23 of the world’s most acclaimed female superstar voices to produce ‘Sing’ to raise money and awareness for the HIV/Aids organization,Treatment Action Campaign (TAC). Here’s Annie Lennox, and in the chorus, Madonna, Celine Dion, Pink, Dido to name a few of the 23 who use their voices to inspire! If you take a look around her website you will see the progress that has been made since she started SING, now that’s inspiring!
