Life is meant to be shared ~

“I just need to find someone to share it with” is what I keep hearing from those around me. I can relate as I’m sure many of you can. Life is meant to be shared. Sharing it with friends and family is incredibly fulfilling but finding a partner to share it with intimately seems to be a quest of many. Need is maybe not the right word. I’ve struggle with this word at times. In the past I’ve associated need with weakness. “I don’t need help, I am a self-sufficient strong independent woman who can do anything.” Hearing that back doesn’t sound the least bit weak although it’s said with the intention of not wanting to appear weak. (and I can be slightly stubborn at times) There is nothing weak about wanting to share and explore the beauty of life with an intimate partner. The trick is finding the right one.

As a woman it’s hard to balance independence and strength without losing your femininity. Women naturally want their man to take care of some of their needs. Some of us even have the burning desire to be save by a man. I need to be saved from myself I think. At times I think I am only attached to this world by a thread, I often find myself floating away to my world which seems in no way a reality.

I think until you allow yourself to be vulnerable in life you don’t really experience all life has to offer. There is nothing wrong with wanting someone or needing someone in your life as long as you’re not dependent on them. That’s when obligation and expectation step in and wreck everything in one clean swoop! When you lose your independence you give away your strength. Balance is so important in life, yin & yang.

Want is perhaps not as scary as need“I just want to find someone to share it with.” I think there are life experiences we need to have that strike a cord within us that make us move to another level. And then there are life experiences we want that enrich and allow us to grow as individuals. Feeling vulnerable is not an emotion everyone is comfortable with, I’m certainly not. When you’re ready to open yourself up and be vulnerable, real passion in life begins. Passion is something in my opinion that needs to be shared. When you have real passion for what you do you can’t help but inspire those around you.

I was in the company of my parents on the weekend and their chemistry after 60 years together is still in the room. They found someone to share it with and somehow manage to keep from floating away making their passionate love a reality. It is possible. I’m looking for that someone who will feed my soul, not my ego. Who will let me float away when I need to but will reel me in from time to time to balance my fairy tale with reality.

We all want to share a part of our life with someone. It doesn’t have to be all at once, it can start with bits and pieces until it feels right to share more. It’s not a race. It’s about timing and letting go to allow your life to just be.

We as human beings like to share. Elation, can’t help but be shared. Love yearns to be shared. Desire burns if not shared. Inspiration is wasted if not shared. Music is created to share. Lust comes undone when shared. Peace wants to be shared.

Life is meant to be shared…

Past Lives…part two.

Past Lives…part one. (last weeks post)

Past Lives…part two.

I felt a tear slowly forge a path down my cheek as her hypnotic voice asked me to move forward in time once again. I didn’t want to move forward, I wasn’t ready to face my fear. I kept looking back, drawn to my past, to him. I grabbed onto a thought that would make my heart beat again. With every ounce of my subconscious strength I held onto the energy of the man who captured my heart. I felt alive again.

He walked toward me, glistening with sweat from working hard in the field. His walk commanded my attention, taking my breath away. In slow motion his strong hands reached out and cupped my jaw on both sides slowly bringing me close enough to feel his breath on my mouth. He stared deep into my soul, taking me to a place I had never been with any man before. Like a tornado he stirred every emotion in my body spinning me out of control with no conscious thought. He had such passion and want in his eyes. Nothing could break through the spiritual connection we were creating in that moment. I would remembered it for eternity.

I heard her soft guiding voice in the distance, muffled like I was hearing it through the wall. She kept repeating the same words over and over. I was lost in my story not wanting to come back up the spiral staircase to reality…she gently repeated “You need to move on, if you don’t you won’t find the answer you are looking for”.

I hesitantly moved forward in time and found myself standing in a familiar spot. I looked towards the tree up on the hill where our son was sitting quietly looking into the vibrant green canopy of leaves that were ready to burst with new life. It was spring again, my favourite season. The breeze was cool this time, fresh subtle fragrance filled the air. The birds were oddly quiet as if they knew what was about to come…

The distant rumble was clearer than any other time. I was waiting for it, anticipated it. I sensed the moment my eyes opened that morning that this was the day. I walked as if in a procession to greet the gentleman who had brought my letters of love in the past. He couldn’t hide his emotions. His eyes told me my heart was about to be shattered into a million pieces. He surely would not have wanted to be the one to deliver this letter, I was thankful it was he who did.

I stoically held my head high as he softly placed the letter in my hand. I closed my eyes to recalled his scent so he could stand next to me and give me his strength. His energy was not within the folded corners. My nose touched the unfamiliar penmanship. His scent, absent. There was nothing. As the tears rolled down my cheeks I opened the handwritten letter to face my biggest fear. I saw words such as brave, strength, respected, sincerely, hero and then I heard his voice faintly whisper the word s-o-r-r-y into my ear.

Our son stood behind me silently with tears flowing down his flush cheeks. We stood with arms wrapped tight around one another, not a word was said. We were all we had left. I felt the presence of his strength circle us as we sobbed silently. I was grateful in that moment to have him in my arms with the same blood pumping through his veins as his father. He would be my forever now.

The Heart of Passion…

IMG_7473

He appears out of nowhere with his heart exposed fearlessly pounding in my presence. His words lure me closer, tempting me to engage my deepest desires. His eyes ravage my fearful thoughts, as they look so deep into mine. It is foreign to him why anyone would guard their heart as I do mine. He leaps without pause…I step cautiously.

I only have one wish left…

He reminds me of what I used to be, fearless in love. His words tantalize my mind, leaving me craving more of him each time we have an intimate exchange. His strength and confidence tease my body, leaving me breathless. He is the epitome of a man.

Words from the heart, hand delivered to the soul by angels, can change your path in an instant.

His poetic prose lay gently waiting patiently for me to trust from where they came. As his hand holds mine, my romantic heart begins to beat once more.

Words come alive when they leave the lips of the man who owns them. A gift I cherish each day. His words penetrated every cell in my body, stirring emotions deep within me.

He escorts me safely down a path where I am greeted by all my senses. I am spellbound by his being.

His words are spoken from the heart of passion…

Beating for Love ~

IMG_7616

When did I stop jumping into love with my eyes wide open, fearlessly filled with passion? Feeling the wind beneath my wings, sweeping me away has become a distant memory. I struggle to extend my arms to reach for his, as he walks toward me with his heart on his sleeve. He is not afraid of love. He too has fought for love and lost but survived.

When did a leap of faith become a fear? When did my heart stop beating for love?

Our heart is not meant to be guarded and held safely behind the walls of our chest. If hurt and pain have brought me here, I have no choice but to put my heart in the hand of the devil and ask my angels for forgiveness. Forgiveness for not opening my heart or scaling my walls in search of freedom, for the pure purpose of love.

I want to care not, where the path will lead, with whom I will walk it and for how long the journey will last. For the details of this are not what’s important, but only that you are willing.

Why do I shy away from the hand that reaches out to touch my soul? When did my heart stop beating for love? When did my heart stop beating for love? When did my heart stop beating for love?

I shall surrender to myself and allow my heart to start beating to the rhythm of love. Love is the meaning of life itself. Love is meant to feed our minds and free our souls. Love is meant to be.

Life flows through our veins allowing us to feel our existence beyond our human flesh. We were created to love. We were created in love. We are love.

Age and Wisdom have brought me here…ready to love again.

Challenge Yourself ~

984184_196435023844668_1707947486_n
TracyNo matter what challenges appear before me, I will survive. Whether the challenge is career based, facing rejection in matters of the heart, or financial reconstruction, life goes on. Life is about connections, forming relationships whether in business or personal areas of your life.

I recently started a new job where my co-workers have blown me away with how much support and patience they give me each day. I entered into this position a little out of my element having never worked in this particular field before. I am a creative, and didn’t see the bridge between creatives and the financial world before. When you get support from your colleagues you can’t help but step up and face the challenge with a positive outlook. Just as in matters of the heart, support from friends and family always helps in making decisions, whether we want to take a chance on love or walk away! Support!

I have the strength and determination to follow this journey called life to find out what it’s all about. I love the challenge and have a great supportive network waiting in the wings to help when needed. I don’t often ask for help but when you enter a completely different career, let me tell you the questions are endless! I wonder if by chance the Universe chose this path to teach and prepare me for the next chapter in my life. In the past I associated asking for help with weakness, I see now it has nothing to do with being weak. I am not weak, I am simply returning to be a student in life once again. The dots are starting to connect!

“I’m still learning” ~ Michelangelo at age 87.

I take chances. I love change. Risk is not a scary word…most days, but I am human and feel the effects now and then. I am not afraid to start over. I have faith that the life I am leading has a greater purpose than my career path, or whether I own my home, or find a man worthy of my love.

It matters not to me if everything I have is taken away, what I need to survive is safe deep inside or just a phone call away. I am grateful to be here spending my time with inspiring human beings. Inspiration is all around us!

I always wondered why I entered into the film business in my early twenties, it was not a passion of mine nor was I interested in seeking fame or fortune. I fell in love with stories. I took part in making them happen for many years until I had my two amazing kids, and then nothing else mattered but being with them. My own story became more important than make belief. Reality is always thought of as a dream crushing expression. Reality is amazing if you take a moment to be in it. No matter what you do, make your reality redefine your dreams. Enjoy each moment you have, life is short. Savour the relationships you have and don’t be afraid to build more! Build, nurture and expand your circle!

What I have learned over the last month is that although I entered a new path in life that I would have bet against in my younger years, you don’t really know where you fit in until you try it on for size. You may be surprised at what you find out! So I say walk down the path on which you stand, step out of your comfort zone now and then and see how vast and endless your horizons become! There are no limits to where you can go and who you can bring with you!

On The Road to Reality…

door romantic

IMG_0066From where I have come is a question I ask myself often. Why am I here? What is my purpose, if not to live a life wrapped in true romantic love. It has taken me years to come to the realization that the path in which I have followed, is perhaps not going to lead me to where I dream of being…

Reality is like the devil in my world. Born Aquarius, I naturally look to the future. I live in a different world. I am a daydreamer, a night-dreamer and as far back as I can remember, I willingly escaped to the life my imagination created carefully in my head. I danced until dawn. I laughed until I cried. I kissed like it was goodbye. I loved with my heart and soul. I believed in true love and fairy tale romance. I lived it, inhaled it with every breath I took. My quest was simple…to capture ‘that’ feeling one gives you when you connect deeply through the windows of your soul. That look that makes you smile from a place so intimate your cheeks blush and skin heats from within.

I live in the clouds and spin my dream into interludes trying to capture a moment in time that makes my heart beat faster. The language of love. My imagination fulfills my romantic desires but I yearn for more than just those whimsical thoughts that floated by, way up high.

I have packed my bag lightly with a few belongings, mostly memories gone by, a leather bound notebook, a pencil to scribble my thoughts, a piece of jewelry I cherish and an old photograph that will remind me who I am. As I look around my space comes alive. My past flashes before my eyes like old movies playing on the projector in my mind.

I put my hand on the door in front of me feeling the energy that radiates behind it. This particular door will open when it’s ready. Until then I will stand close and feel its warmth pass through me. Like a child waiting to open a gift, the anticipation is overwhelming. For now, I will float among familiar ones that take me back to sift through the meanings that they brought forth to help create who I have become. Each one was placed in my path for a reason, a life lesson. You never know where a door will lead if you fear the unknown.

I sit on my cloud and contemplate what was and what will be. Each life experience or door I was courageous enough to venture through took part in making me who I am today as I pack my bag ready to come down from where I have called home since I was a child. It’s time.

I bow my head as I approach a new beginning with tears in my eyes of memories I hope never get lost in the shuffle of life. I savor each moment as I slowly reach forward and place my hand on the ornate worn knob. The moments I want to bring with me are safely placed at my side if I feel homesick, a familiar feeling as a child. There will always be a silver thread holding me to what I am not meant to let go.

The energy from behind the door waiting for me glows with a light so warm it almost feels like home. It distracts me from this moment like a future waiting to unfold.

So you see, I do know from where I’ve come. I need not know why I am here. My purpose is to be. True love is all around me. I will arrive when it is time. It is only now where I want to be in mind, body and spirit. I need not a daydream or fantasy in my life to feel full, reality can be as exciting as the world inside my mind.

Svaha ~

Tales of Passion with Isabel Allende

As you know I am a HUGE fan of TED Talks…here is one that has inspired me to help nurture the feminine energy in men! (((((((smile))))))))

Author and activist Isabel Allende discusses women, creativity, the definition of feminism and of course…passion! She writes stories of passion. Her novels and memoirs, including The House of the Spirits and Eva Luna, tells the stories of women and men who live with passionate commitment. Isabel made me smile, laugh and want to join forces with other women to change the world in which we live to be better, not perfect but better! Enjoy!

“For real change, we need feminine energy in the management of the world. We need a critical number of women in positions of power, and we need to nurture the feminine energy in men.” (Isabel Allende)

Love and the Chance of Rejection

The Universe works in mysterious ways. We live and learn. Sometimes the lesson is obvious and sometimes it isn’t. I don’t know if it’s years of auditioning that gave me the tools to not take rejection too personally, but I’m glad I don’t. (most of the time) I am human though!

Rejection is never an easy pill to swallow especially when it has to do with the opposite sex. Unlike applying for a job it isn’t as simple as you didn’t have enough experience or you can’t speak another language, it’s personal. Rejection sometimes forces us to look in the mirror and reevaluate who we are. It can deflate us for a while but also gives us time to change and grow. When we are ready, willing and able we try again. Distraction is sometime just what the doctor ordered, however it can also deviate us from the lesson we need to learn.

We have all heard the line “It’s not YOU it’s ME” and as much as I’d like to believe it isn’t ME, sometimes it is. Every now and then someone points out the not so obvious to us and we learn a few things about who we are. We can either grow and expand in that moment or we can close our eyes and believe it’s not us, it’s them! My only advice, dig deep or you’re going again! If you find yourself in the same or similar situation again and again, chances are you’re just not getting it. Dig Deeper! Nobody is perfect! We are all far from it…which is a good thing!

When we do finally relax and let go of all our baggage and issues and accept ourselves for who we are flaws and all, we have a much better chance of finding real love. When real true love comes our way, no one can stop it. There is no rejection. There is passion, want and need all mixed up in an intoxicating concoction waiting for both male and female energies to allow them to mix!

When two people meet and open their hearts to love it’s a beautiful thing. Love and taking a chance of rejection is all part of finding the right person.

I came across this on Facebook and I had to share it. Isaac definitely lifted my spirits in regard to love after watching it! Although I am not a fan of public proposals this was creative and unique! How could she possibly say no to him! I loved her reaction!

P.S ~ It’s my daughter Jordan’s Birthday today, she turns 11! She is the most beautiful little girl human on this planet! (her friends are pretty darn cute too) She is an old soul that teaches me about life each and everyday we share together. One thing I hope I have taught her is to always take a chance on love in-spite of rejection.

Take Chances in life Jo! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL! Sweet Kiss

Pro’s to Being Attached ~ (part two)

Two weeks ago I shared my list of some Pro’s to Being Single. Ask a young single male what’s on his list, and I’m certain it would grow ten fold. Ask a man who is afraid of commitment and the list, which is no doubt written in stone, takes on a life of its own. Ask someone who lost a love and yet another view. Married, Single, Divorced, Separated, Unavailable, Chicken we all have different lists. We all have Pro’s and Con’s depending where we are in life, what we want, need, or are ready for. We go from being single to attached when we meet someone we don’t want to be without and vice-versa!

Pro’s to Being Attached ~

  • Butterflies escape each time your thoughts go to the man you fiercely desire ~
  • You have a smile on your face that whispers “I have a secret” that comes from deep inside your soul ~
  • When you lock the door, it’s just you, him and passion bouncing off the walls, ceiling and floor ~
  • Music fills the air regardless if the stereo is on ~
  • Your heart races, feeling like it’s going to beat right out of your chest when you hear his sexy voice ~
  • Your desire to be naked outweighs your common sense *wink* ~
  • Travel and life experience is enriched when you are together ~
  • You rush home when you have GREAT News to share ~
  • The messy bed is a reminder of what you have, just had, are going to have & want more of ~
  • When you slip between the sheets his essence is still there, because he is ~
  • You subconsciously inhaling deeply when he enters the room darting straight to his neck, scent is intoxicating ~
  • You cook together, teasing one another…dinner goes cold more often than not ~
  • You wake up in the middle of the night with his arms wrapped around you feeling safe and loved ~
  • You can lay in bed talking to the wee hours of the morning face to face, or spoon in silence ~
  • He loves when you are right out of the shower, fresh and natural ~
  • You yearn to be in his presence, he embraces you for all you are ~
  • He loves your new tattoo, because he loves you ~
  • He wants to kiss you Good-night, Good-afternoon & Good-morning ~
  • He makes the BEST morning coffee that has ever touched your lips ~
  • Your family becomes his and his becomes yours ~
  • You have a go-to-guy when you need one ~
  • You have a male best friend…not to be mistaken for a girlfriend ~
  • When you go out with the girls, he’s there keeping the bed warm ~
  • Sex, sex, sex that leads somewhere magical ~
  • Intimacy ~
  • Lust and Love are experienced together, growing deeper with time ~
  • You have a man to grow old with, share life with, unfold with ~
  • You can look into his eyes from across the room knowing he’s yours later ~
  • (Insert record scratching sound here)…and then he says something that totally pisses you off and it’s like some total hottie came by and fertilized the crap out of the grass on the ‘other-side’ making it greener than you have EVER seen before…and the ‘other’ list grows…the End ~
  • Sorry I couldn’t resist! My only advice if you’re thinking of making a list…use pencil!
  • Btw the grass is NOT always greener on the ‘other-side’ but it is greener where you fertilize it…just sayin ~

It’s wonderful when you meet the right person and commit to them with mind, body and spirit, the hard part is finding the right person. When you do you don’t need a list.

Life is Meant to Be Shared...eventually when the time and person is right ~

Left Brain ~ Right Brain…

I was going to write about the Pro’s and Con’s of being single, but in all honesty my brain hurts right now…next week! I feel like my grey matter has done a massive workout lately and I need a day to just let all my thoughts process. Today my world is light and airy!

Left BrainRight Brain. Which are you? I love the descriptions, very vivid and so true. We need both in the world in order to have balance.

LEFT BRAIN – I am a scientist. A mathematician. I love the familiar, I categorize. I am accurate. Linear. Analytical. Strategic. I am practical. Always in control, a master of words and language, realistic. I calculate equations and play with numbers. I am order. I am logic. I know exactly who I am.

RIGHT BRAIN – I am creativity, a free spirit. I am passion. Yearning. Sensuality. I am the sound of the roaring laughter. I am taste. The feeling of sand beneath bare feet. I am movement. Vivid colors, I am the urge to paint on an empty canvas, I am boundless imagination. Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel. I am everything I wanted to be.

Click on the picture for larger view!

I am most definitely a Right Brain! When I look at the picture above I want to smudge my painted fingers all over the left brain’s…brain. ((((smile)))) That’s a lie…not just all over their brain! That might actually be a fun exercise, being in a room with a Lefty with only paints and canvas. Could Lefty persuade Righty to create a beautiful piece of art or would the Lefty just come out covered in paint? That is going to most definitely be a post on All Things Sexy and Silver! 😉

Tantric Sex ~

You’ve probably heard of tantric sex. I think when anyone mentions the word tantric we immediately think of Sting, and when we mention Sting we think of him having tantric sex. Whether or not he actually has tantric sex is another story. I’ve heard that it was a joke started by Bob Geldoff and it just never died. I tried snopes.com but found nothing.

I’d like to learn more about tantric sex but I just don’t have the time. (giggle) Not sure to be honest that I’d have the patience for it? Would you consider indulging in tantric sex? I say indulge because my understanding of it is that you have to have hours if not days of free time in order to really qualify your ‘session’ to be tantric? (seriously who has that much free time?) Is there a condensed version of tantric sex…or am I missing the point? “Can we just get to the good stuff?”

I visualize tantric sex starting out similar to the typical first aide full body assessment scan, hands going in circles close to those forbidden areas, teasing without touchdown. “I’m not touching you”…”I’m not touching you” I k-n-o-w you eventually touch each other in the nether-regions, it’s not like two mimes having sex or anything silly like that. How long do you think it takes the average person to question…“why is it that we aren’t actually touching ‘there’ again?” Well, let me tell you, because it’s about deeply touching your partners spirit sensually and erotically trying to bottle the sexual energy that is passing back and forth between the two of you before it blows. That’s why!

I did actually look it up to find out more about it but all I read was blah blah blah spiritual blah blah orgasm and then I clicked on orgasm which took me somewhere c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y different and by the time I read that information I forgot what I started searching. Long story short, you stare at your partner until the creepy uncomfortable feeling dissipates, you engage in intimate touching everywhere but in their swim suit area. You continue to make them think you are about to touch them there but don’t. I don’t know about you but I call that a big fat tease! I’d probably blurt out “TOUCH MY NIPPLE!” something inappropriate! Honestly I don’t have that kinda patience. Touch it or quit making me think your about to!!

Tantric O’s…don’t we just want to know for sure we’re getting one? Really, it’s that simple isn’t it? Don’t you just want to grab it with both hands when it comes out of left field and have the damn thing. What-if and I’m not a what-if kinda girl but what-if after hours of almost having one you’re too tired to seal the deal? What a rip that would be. We all know that feeling!

I am going to relate tantric sex to food for a moment, we all love food! You know when you’re reallllly hungry and you want that awesome fish taco from Gibsons that you had a month ago. There has not been a fish taco like it since. You’ve had a taco, but it wasn’t like that one! In reality would you drive all the way to Horseshoe Bay hop on the ferry to Gibsons to have that outstanding fish taco that took literally hours to finally sink your teeth into? Or, would you be happy with a pretty damn good fish taco locally? You can think of that long journey as the tantric part of getting your outstanding taco. The anticipation leading up to it, great company, good conversation, the ferry ride, it’s all good if you have nothing else to do. So yes I see the point of tantric sex, it’s the journey you’re supposed to enjoy regardless if you get the fish taco in the end. You still had a fantastic day filled with stimulating conversation, if you’re lucky there was a little touching in your partners swim suit area. Or if there is a time limit…you could just stay home in bed and have nothing else to do BUT touch your partner in their swim suit area? Hmmm…a quandary for sure!

I think it all comes down to how much time you are willing to commit to your partner intimately. Do you want a unique connection with them? Are both of you open to trying something new? Tantric connections don’t have to be days long, it’s about quality time with your partner not length of time. It’s about intimacy and chemistry connecting on a much deeper level. I think if you really want something, you do what it takes to get it.

The bottom line is this…if you’re in the right mood, have the time and have intimate desires with your partner, I think the experience alone would be worth giving it a try. Tantric sex is basically about taking your time and most of us don’t take enough intimate time with our partners. It’s a form of meditation, staying focused on the person right in front of you. It’s about maximum passion, harmonizing your sexual rhythms enjoying the entire ride, not just going from point A to B.

There you have it, Tantric Sex, is it for you?

Fear is the Thief of Dreams…Gandhi ~

I was talking to a man-friend of mine about living life with no fear. We both agreed there is no other way to live. He believes “fear usually lives in things unfinished or never done.” I think timing can also play a key role in dreams or goals unfinished or never done. We need to stay tapped into our passion no matter how little time we have for it, keeping our dreams alive!

“Don’t dream your life, but live your dream” ~ Mark Twain

Do you ever wonder why you do certain things? Why do you connect so easily with some but not others? Why did you take Spanish out of the blue? Do you ever wonder how something you’re doing now is going to relate to your future? It’s all about connecting the dots. I often wonder what is the purpose of me writing? Its not for the huge paycheck. Here’s why ~

“Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don’t feel I should be doing something else” ~ Gloria Steinem.

It’s about passion. I am passionate about love and life and write in hopes of keeping my passion for it alive. It’s all about sharing my passion and hopefully inspiring those around me while doing so. When you do what you’re passionate about you find what you are seeking in life, changing the energy around you. You can’t inspire others if you are full of regret because of things unfinished or never done. Even if your passion is a hobby, do it for the simple pleasure of doing it.

My life with no fear is pretty simple ~ live each moment open and honest sharing what life has to offer with those around me. I get inspiration from nature, in particular water. I can sit for hours in awe of its vast magnificence. It both calms and excites me. It has such power and peacefulness. Turbulent on top yet tranquil underneath where there is an entirely different world waiting to be explored if we just dip below its surface without fear. Dip below the surface of life and see what it has to offer. We often fear the unknown, yet our world is surround by it. “Fear is the thief of dreams” ~ Gandhi.

Music also inspires and stimulates my creative thoughts. Music opens me. It sends me back to where I’ve been and takes me to where I dream of being. It stirs my soul, balances my being and tunes my emotion.

Unique human beings also inspire me. I admire those who live outside of their comfort zone, very few have the courage to do so. I have only written about a few but there are many. I crave those who make me think and feel emotions that frighten me. I have the desire to write when emotions are stirred deep inside. Then is when I feel truly alive.

So if I were to be living my dream with no fear I would be gazing into a body of water with music in the air writing passionately about life and love, in the company of a man who stirs all of my emotions. Living your dream doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about making memories and each moment count. It’s not about what you have, it’s about what you do with your passion.

When I saw the movie Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner I wanted to be her. A romance novelist on an adventure, in the end she finds her own love and sails away living her dream. I want my life to be filled with adventure, love and passion worthy of inspiring me to write. I want to write about real romance, not harlequin romance, real romantic adventure.

That’s MY Dream!

Life is what you make it. If you do what you love I think everything else just happens. Follow your passion.  Make your dreams a reality…jump!

I must be in tune with the Universe because this was the Postcard from Gusto this glorious morning…

Inspiration is All Around Us!

I was inspired by Bonnie and John while visiting them in Vernon last week. It’s so obvious when you’re in their presence that they’re still so in-love. I found myself smiling each time I caught them having a moment. It’s awesome to see your best friend happily married to a great man that you absolutely love! They are definitely not edging towards a statistic in their marriage. You can see in their eyes that they appreciate the time they have together. Seizing moments and making each one count. Love is inspiring!

l am inspired by a friend of mine Ryan. I posted about his blog a couple of times when he took an adventure to Africa to become a Safari Guide. Ryan in Africa. He lives life on the edge…his edge, which is much different from everyone else’s! He has such a thirst for life that never quite gets quenched. He’s definitely living while he’s alive! When you’re in his company you can’t help but want to touch him in hopes that his infectious attitude rubs off on you, even just a little bit! He said he “lives life with no fear, apologizes for nothing, doesn’t regret his mistakes, learns from them because sometimes his mistakes produce the best results!” That’s inspiring! Love the man and can’t wait to see where his next adventure takes him. Ryan inspires me!

I am inspired by my friend Kirk who I admire for leaving a great career in special effects in the film industry for music. He followed his passion for music making a career out of it. Sound Lounge Productions a recording studio was born from Kirk following his dream. He took a chance in life that not many would have had the courage to do. Kirk spends his day with creative souls who also have a dream that he helps them reach, how sweet is that! Check out Kirks band SWANK, you’ll love them! He is living proof that if you believe in yourself, work hard and do what you love…they will come! Kirk inspires me continually! He was kind enough to take time out of his busy day to show my kids and I around his studio, it was awesome! His tools are drums, guitars and lots of fun buttons how fun is that! You choice is looking good on ya Kirk! Thank you for the music lesson we loved it immensely! Following your dream is inspiring!

So if you take the time to open your eyes there truly is inspiration all around you! These are just a few things that caught my eye last week. Inspiration comes in so many different forms…what inspires you? Care to share some inspiration with us? Inspiration moves us in the right direction…

I saw this posted on Facebook. It basically summed it up for me and although you may have seen it, it is something you couldn’t possibly read too many times.

Svaha Spirit Series: IL Volo ~

My Mom sent me the link to this video and I honestly thought it was a prank. I actually googled Il Volo after watching the entire video because I was still in disbelief that the voices I heard were truly theirs. They are!!! What is it about Italian men! Incredible language, passion and sex appeal! I’m moving to Italy!

I am also a fan of Il Divo but they are grown men so they should sound like grown men. These are boys that sound like grown men. I can’t believe this…

And here are the men of Il Divo…enjoy!

Would He Catch a Grenade for Ya?

Would your man catch a grenade for ya…throw his hand on a blade for ya…jump in front of a train for ya…take a bullet straight through his brain for ya…do anything for ya? These lyrics remind us how powerful love can be. Most people don’t experience this kind of passion in their love, and as shown in Bruno’s video it’s not always reciprocated. Imagine for a moment how incredible it would feel if you knew without a doubt, your man would give his life for you!

Have you ever felt this kind of love for someone? Your blessed if you have. Once you’ve had love this powerful it’s hard to settle for anything less. My Dad would do every verse Bruno writes about for my Mom! It makes me smile just thinking about how powerful their love is. I am sure that after 60 odd years together on some days he may feel like catching the grenade and setting it down quietly behind her…:) (lol) or pushing her in front of the train, but if it really came down to it, he would die for her, and that’s gotta feel good.

The Power of Love!

It’s no secret that I’m a romantic, being born on Valentine’s Day was no coincidence! I would bathe in love if it were possible! You have to admit the feeling of being in love changes the way you view everything. Love conquers all. Without Lovethere is nothing. When you feel love for someone this strong, you would do anything for them! It’s a selfless act, being in love.

Not everyone experiences love to such a degree, and no one likes to be rejected when it comes to love, but if you don’t take chances and risk it all, you will never know if it was love. If you do follow your heart, it will lead you to where you are meant to be which can change your life forever!

What’s the most romantic thing a man or woman has done for you, or said to you?

I had a man confess “he would have climbed Everest for me!” Now that’s romantic…sigh 🙂

Svaha Spirit Series ~ Monument Valley

Scott ventured to Monument Valley, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico for the first time several years ago. They say touring through the Valley is best by horseback. Scott chooses his passion, the motorcycle, to make the trip. He came home the first time with a very different outlook on life. It is where he would like to have his ashes spread when he passes from this world to the next, it meant that much. A spiritual quest for a man on a motorcycle, awesome! He continues to go back year after year to be recharged spiritually. I would like to go and see the beauty for myself to see how it might affect me spiritually, just not in the heat of the summer on a motorcycle. I’ve been told it’s one of the most beautiful breathtaking spiritual places on earth. It is definitely on my bucket list! I think spring time would be most beautiful.

Is Fidelity Obsolete?

I was reading Women’s Health and came across an article by Meghan Rabbitt questioning whether fidelity is becoming obsolete. I cracked up at the picture that was attached to it of a bride standing alone on her wedding cake, on her phone, groom hanging from a helicopter trying desperately to get away…it read “To have and hold from this day forward…or until someone hotter comes along.”

Everyone has the right to change their minds I suppose, and better before you tie the knot than after, when it just keeps getting more complicated as time goes by. What’s not so funny is the stats about cheating.

40% of people who do cheat do so with a friend.

35% cheated with a co-worker.

23% of men cheated with someone they met in a bar. Alcohol and or drugs have always been an excuse for why men and women loses their inhibitions and acts inappropriately while under the influence. I’ve always believed those who use alcohol or drugs as their excuse had it in them before their lips even touched the glass or reefer. When the effects wear off, they sober up and need to blame something for their actions, because they weren’t honest with themselves to begin with. I say do what you want without the drug of choice and take precautions. Just be honest about what you’re doing! Don’t sugar coat it and keep it real!

22% of women cheated with an ex-boyfriend. I understand why this would appeal to some, familiarity and comfort of knowing this person. But I personally am not a big fan of friends with benefits, so for me when its over, its over.

I think cheating is the way out in most cases, not always a mistake though. You wouldn’t be even considering cheating if you were happy in your marriage or relationship in the first place. And if your not happy why not move forward to find happiness! Most men and women don’t move forward because of fear. They don’t want to gamble and be alone, or take the chance of not meeting someone who is better suited to them than the previous one. Does that really matter if you’re not happy in the first place. At least if your alone you are doing what you like and not compromising who you are for someone you’re not 100% happy with. Being a romantic I wouldn’t want to compromise this part of my existence.

I understand that for most men and women it’s not as easy as it sounds, because of children, property, commitments and vows but ultimately we all want to be happy and if you’re not, change and compromise can be made to get you in the right direction. Infidelity is not the answer. I don’t agree with staying together unless you’re still passionate with your partner. Having said that not everyone needs passion or love to make their world go round! Love and passion need to be present for me to want to continue a relationship. If love and passion are not reciprocated then there is no point in continuing down a path of mediocrity. I understand passion gets lost in our day to day lives but there needs to be a spark that both are willing to work at igniting together for love and passion to not get lost. If somewhere down the road the flame goes out, move forward and remain friends so you avoid infidelity and avoid being a statistic. Be true to yourself.

Did you know that the average ‘romp’ lasts 3 to 7 minutes, yet both male and female desire 13 minutes. If we can’t put at most 13 minutes away for our partner, no wonder the stats I quoted earlier are so high! You can also look at this stat as, if you are really just looking for a 7 minute romp, is it really worth ending what you do have with your spouse for that, probably not.

Here are a few tips I found online to help prevent yourself from becoming part of a growing statistic ~

1. Be each other’s number one confidant. You shouldn’t be sharing private thoughts with others that you’re not sharing with your mate.
2. Make time to connect on a regular basis. Daily moments of connection help you build a sense of togetherness and shared purpose.
3. Don’t let family time squeeze out just-the-two-of-you time. Relationships that are too child-centered are at high risk for an affair.
4. Recognize when you’re temporarily attracted to someone else. It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with your relationship — or that you have to act on it.
5. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and your relationship. If you’re ever tempted and don’t feel like you can tell your mate, you’ll have someone else to confide in who will steer you straight. And if one of you does stray, you’ll have a strong support network to help you put your relationship back together.

Every relationship is unique and needs work, I know mine is very unorthodox but it works. I have been able to move on and keep my best friend without having become a statistic because of honesty and hard work on both sides. My advice to not becoming a statistic is be honest no matter how hard it can sometimes be, have good intention, stay in the room and lose your ego. Don’t sweat the small stuff and accept your partner’s flaws and they will accept yours. If you can do that you will ‘at least’ have a best friend in what was your partner or spouse!

Finding Lyrical Beauty in…Change ~

When I created May’s header and theme ‘Finding Lyrical Beauty in… Change’, it was meant to reflect all the changes that are happening in my life right now. I have never feared change. Change is a fresh start, a new beginning which moves you forward in life. It allows room for growth. Whether change was a new bedroom growing up after another move, a new friend or pair of shoes, I never looked at what I had before as a loss but what I gained with each change.

Tara Cronica is going to start undergoing some Change. We are unfolding and expanding all the time. Our first change will start today!

I will be sharing my voice on Wednesday and Thursday. Bonnie will grace the pages on Friday and Saturday, and Jacquie will get personal on Monday and Tuesday!  Sunday will remain the same with our Svaha Spirit Series which we all add our voice to. We have decided to each take two consecutive days which will give each of us a little more freedom. We can change our post or leave it for you an extra day!

Tara Cronica is one of my passions and I can’t tell you how much positive energy it has added to my life, I hope you feel the same! So here’s to Tara Cronica and Finding Lyrical Beauty in …Change.

Conditioning & Learned Behaviour~

TracyA learned behavior is a behavior that was observed by an individual that they find to be beneficial to them in some way.  We have all been taught these learned behaviors by our parents, teachers, pastors, councillors or anyone of any influence in our lives.  There’s a motivating factor behind it.  A reward perhaps.  The learned behavior is a conditioned response to a stimuli through either voluntary or involuntary intent.  It is some type of action or reflex that you learn. For example tying your shoes, tantrums and interrupting a conversation is a learned behavior.  Innate behaviors on the other hand, such as babies sucking their thumbs or crying is something we are born with.

We have developed automatic response to different situations, sometimes reacting because of the way we are conditioned to react.  Not all learned behaviors are negative, but I do think we need to start trusting our own instinctual or innate behaviors a little more.

I think we need to shed some of our conditioning in order to live our most authentic lives.

We are conditioned to get married at a certain age.  Not everyone wants to, or should get married.  In many countries marriage is still arranged.  I think it’s hard finding a partner you could spend the rest of your life with, imagine for a moment your parents picking who you will be with FOREVER!   Maybe marriage is not meant to last forever.  We are also conditioned to believe the end of a marriage is a failure, when in fact it can be the best decision for both people.   I admire those who don’t conform to what society makes them believe is their path because of a preconceived timeline.

Although procreation is an innate behaviour, it doesn’t mean we have to.  We are conditioned to believe we are meant to have children after marriage.  It is the question every newly married couple gets asked days after they exchanged vows.  If we can accept the marriage without the child, then we should be able to accept the child without the marriage.  Women are often frowned upon when they consider having a child out of wedlock.  We are conditioned to believe you need two parents and although I do think it is much easier and more balanced for the children, it’s not necessarily the norm anymore.  Not all couples want children and go through a huge struggle to explain why they choose not to.  Just as some women/men choose not to marry.  I think those who choose what is best for them see through learned behavior and are living truthfully.  When you love someone “unconditionally” it means without conditions.  There is nothing better or more pure.

Age also has conditions we need to shed.  I don’t even ask how old someone is because I think age should not be a measuring stick or way of slotting someone.  Kelsey was the first to teach me that lesson, she was way beyond her years when she was 8 years old.  Age doesn’t no matter.  I have a lot to learn from much younger wiser souls while I am here on earth.  I am open to all they have to teach me.  Older doesn’t always mean wiser, as we are conditioned to believe.  It all really depends on the individuals life experience.

Kids don’t even need to leave the comfort of their own homes to learn their behaviors.  Television is full of them.  Pretty scary when as an adult you are completely aware of what’s out there.  Don’t get me wrong there are lots of great television shows out there that are a positive expression of life, you just have to look for them.  Kids are watching the drama portrayed in shows and what they get out of it is how they think they should react to a situation themselves.  They start to shut off their own instinct of what feels right and by doing this they become conditioned.  They have successfully learned their behavior.  They have tuned out their innate behaviours they were born with.

We need to shed our conditioning and start trusting our own instincts of how to react to situations that arise.  A positive, open mind and good moral fiber will help us make difficult choices in our path ahead.  Trust your instincts not your conditioning!  Follow your heart and keep a clean conscience and your on the right path to shedding some of the unnecessary conditioning we are all faced with each day.

The Nude by Lawrence Thomas

TracyWe all meet certain individuals that inspire us to reach our goals.  Lawrence Thomas inspires me to reach mine.  We met through Twitter, and a conversation started simply because he wrote about football, A Beautiful Night for Football, I thought he might know a friend of mine who is a Football Commentator.  He didn’t, but we started to talk and found we had quite a lot in common.

Lawrence has a passion for words.  I love getting lost in words.  I admire Lawrence for his ability to express himself so openly.  I love his style and that he too is a hopeless romantic at heart.  I posted “Love is Forever” which he wrote and shared with me last year, the timing was, lets just say I think I was meant to read it, it felt like a gift to me.  We were simply meant to meet, maybe never in person but our paths were meant to cross.

I am very excited because Lawrence has released The Nude, a story he wrote which I had the honor of reading and LOVED!  When a writer can make you forget everything while you are immersed in their story, it rubs off on you.  I have had the desire to write a romantic tale for sometime and after reading “The Nude”, I have been re inspired to continue following that path.

The Nude by Lawrence Thomas

Excerpt from The Nude~

I look up from my sketch pad to see her standing in the stucco archway. My eyes are so enchanted by her tall, slender, silhouette as she enters the café, that I scorch my tongue taking an overzealous swallow of my Latte. I am absorbed by every curve of exposed skin, from the small of her neck, to the arch of her feet.

Her long, tanned legs glimmer in this sultry summer heat. She wears a tight fitting tube top, and a wrap-around skirt. Sandals with a slightly raised heal show off the camber of her well-defined calves as she stands before me in three-quarter view. Her undulating hair, a silky brown, is gathered in back around a red pencil.

I turn to a fresh page, and begin to draw her as she takes a seat in front of the open window. She slides off her sandals, and removes the pencil, allowing chestnut waves to cascade just past her bare shoulders. Her legs crossed at the ankles. I begin my sketch at the near perfect arch of her lightly tanned feet. The sun shines in through the empty window frame and casts shadows over her that I could never attain in the forced light of my small studio.

I sense that she feels me drawing her.  Perhaps she thinks of me gliding my Conté,  my charcoal drawing stick, up her leg, around her round, firm buttocks, and ascending the arch of her naked back.  Carefully capturing every curve, every crevice.  Does she take pleasure in the touch of my fingers softly shaping her features?

by Lawrence Thomas

Thanks Lawrence for giving me inspiration as a writer to try my hand at something new!  And for allowing me to share your writing here on Tara Cronica once again!  I look forward to the next!
