Life is meant to be shared ~

“I just need to find someone to share it with” is what I keep hearing from those around me. I can relate as I’m sure many of you can. Life is meant to be shared. Sharing it with friends and family is incredibly fulfilling but finding a partner to share it with intimately seems to be a quest of many. Need is maybe not the right word. I’ve struggle with this word at times. In the past I’ve associated need with weakness. “I don’t need help, I am a self-sufficient strong independent woman who can do anything.” Hearing that back doesn’t sound the least bit weak although it’s said with the intention of not wanting to appear weak. (and I can be slightly stubborn at times) There is nothing weak about wanting to share and explore the beauty of life with an intimate partner. The trick is finding the right one.

As a woman it’s hard to balance independence and strength without losing your femininity. Women naturally want their man to take care of some of their needs. Some of us even have the burning desire to be save by a man. I need to be saved from myself I think. At times I think I am only attached to this world by a thread, I often find myself floating away to my world which seems in no way a reality.

I think until you allow yourself to be vulnerable in life you don’t really experience all life has to offer. There is nothing wrong with wanting someone or needing someone in your life as long as you’re not dependent on them. That’s when obligation and expectation step in and wreck everything in one clean swoop! When you lose your independence you give away your strength. Balance is so important in life, yin & yang.

Want is perhaps not as scary as need“I just want to find someone to share it with.” I think there are life experiences we need to have that strike a cord within us that make us move to another level. And then there are life experiences we want that enrich and allow us to grow as individuals. Feeling vulnerable is not an emotion everyone is comfortable with, I’m certainly not. When you’re ready to open yourself up and be vulnerable, real passion in life begins. Passion is something in my opinion that needs to be shared. When you have real passion for what you do you can’t help but inspire those around you.

I was in the company of my parents on the weekend and their chemistry after 60 years together is still in the room. They found someone to share it with and somehow manage to keep from floating away making their passionate love a reality. It is possible. I’m looking for that someone who will feed my soul, not my ego. Who will let me float away when I need to but will reel me in from time to time to balance my fairy tale with reality.

We all want to share a part of our life with someone. It doesn’t have to be all at once, it can start with bits and pieces until it feels right to share more. It’s not a race. It’s about timing and letting go to allow your life to just be.

We as human beings like to share. Elation, can’t help but be shared. Love yearns to be shared. Desire burns if not shared. Inspiration is wasted if not shared. Music is created to share. Lust comes undone when shared. Peace wants to be shared.

Life is meant to be shared…

Feelings ~ Thoughts ~ Words

59f8ee19a6a8353ccc9fb29af06a6b5c“Thoughts become things…choose the good ones” ~Notes from the Universe

10407872_10152072469157032_6170729355099373110_nThis is a quote I am aware of every single day. There are few moments in time that it does not stay at the forefront of my over active mind. It settles the way I process my day to day life. I need this thought like the desert needs the rain.

No one can be expected to always choose the good ones, but we do our best. There is nothing wrong with wallowing in thoughts of uncertainty or insecurity if you are aware you are there, just don’t hang around too long. We sometimes don’t appreciate the good without the bad, the up without the down, love without being alonelife without loss.

Balance makes us appreciate what we have and have not. Through each life experience we learn more about who we are and how we can use what we learn to move forward on our path, whatever path that may be, to where ever it may lead.

Transition takes time. I continue to go through a transitional state in mind, body and spirit. I am starting to understand how to deal with the unknown more and take with me the thoughts and people that keep me grounded.

Music sends me away from time to time and reminds me that I am not the only one. I believe lyrics are written and shared not to expose the intimate thoughts of another but to allow those who listen the feeling of being connected to something so grand and universal it speak with a common chord. “Music is what feelings sound like” another favourite quote of mine!

I crave stories of love that allow me to escape into a world I hope and dream to be mine one day. Some days that dream feels like a mirage. We all dip into the thoughts we may not be deserving but we know in our heart that is not true. Everyone deserves to be loved by another.

~A flower without water…wilting.

~Petals fall to the ground.

~Words unspoken.

~Thoughts let go.

~A drop of water…continue to grow.

~tracy

No matter what emotion washes over you, embrace it, immerse every ounce of your being into how it makes you feel. If it’s sadness…feel it, excitment…let it explode from the centre of where it came! If your heart ache then allow the ache to penetrate your soul! Once you walk within the emotion that holds you, it lessens its grip, you become more acquainted and you let go. YOU let go.

“That’s the thing about pain, it demands to be felt” John Green

Feel it and let go…

Some feelings fade, others grow with time. Some we keep tucked away in the deepest part of our hearts, others we set free with the slightest breeze. We gather strength after we allow them to take us to unknown places. The journey back again happens with time.

“Thoughts become things…choose the good ones”

Landmarks in Life ~

thomasmerton385677
IMG_6835We are all part of Landmark events; the birth of a child, a wedding, the passing of a loved one, a success in life. Each waypoint becomes a memorable time in life waiting to be revisited when we feel the need. When we allow these moments in time to resurface, feelings emerge and we reflect on how each of them changed who we are. We connect our dots. They eventually define who we are as a whole. Each one of these Landmark events is part of what develops our core.

I recently added a dot to my journey in life. I feel as though I have a blank sheet of music that awaits the melody I will create. The people I meet along the way are the notes, those who are a constant in my life are that familiar chorus, the memories we make together will become the lyrics to my song. Each chord that is played will evoke a feeling that will resonate with me for years to come. Some verses in my song will haunt me, others will overflow with passion, some will bring a ((((smile)))), others may well a tear to the surface that will courageously take its own path and gently slip away.

As we walk along our path creating our music in life we will be joined by a select few who will walk with us for our entire journey. Others will joins us to teach us a lesson or two and then fade away off into the distance. Some will walk with us long enough to challenge who we are and may even change our path. There will be few who will feel like home that will unconditionally love who we are and accept all the musical genres we have created. They will fight for us. They will stand strong at our side no matter where we choose to go.

We all meet those who make their mark in our lives. We may not play with them as often as we would like, but they are instrumental in helping us write our song. We learn in time that when we need them to hum that familiar chorus they will, when the time is right. They are part of who we are, our internal compass, that finds us and brings us back home when we are lost amid the chaos in life.

2014 The Year of Being Content!

IMG_6589
IMG_6568Relaaaaaax…what could go wrong? We spend so much time thinking and not doing, holding back, not taking chances. We fear the unknown, we hide our eyes, we no longer seek the truth, we wait and worry.

Music takes me to that far away place my soul calls home. As I savour a glass of red and write that ember that hides deep within my existence starts to grow. I must admit life feels rather good at the moment. I am open. I am free. I seek the truth and drift into the clouds.

It’s healthy to escape the chaos…necessary even. Music is the instrument that helps me get there. I can feel myself letting go of all the trivial things that build up throughout the day as I sit surrounded by a melody. I have a warm glow radiating from a place that has felt dormant lately, a place I can usually escape to in a moment of silence. Silence, a place becoming extinct within us. A place we don’t visit often enough. Finding that silence is like going home.

The evening starts to unravel as my thoughts dance with my imagination. The sound escorts my worries away. In this moment I let go. I am able to quiet the noise and hear the beauty in my solitude. Free of everything that keeps me grounded, It’s time to sit amidst the clouds and contemplate my existence once again.

I think we all need to sit and remember that our time here is limited, before we know it we will be moving on. Times up, take chances, do what you love, make a difference, change a life, share, give, love. Just be, no judgment, no worry, no restrictions, no boundaries, float through the day with whomever crosses your path.

Be open to the sound of silence.

I have relaxed a great deal over the years but lately I feel different. I feel content to share the room, or not. I don’t feel as though I should be doing anything other than what I am, right now in this moment. I have surrendered to the Universe with not a worry in the world.

This magical ride we call life is ours to create. We choose who we share it with. We choose where we explore. We choose.

Entice all your senses as your journey begins in a New Year where endless possibilities are waiting to be uncovered.

Listen, See, Feel, Touch, Taste, Trust and most of all Love with your entire Heart ~

Happy New Year!

A Feeling…

woman

IMG_0096_3_2Music fills the air as I let go of this world and start my journey into the night. I become weightless as I float gently through an opening in the clouds. I have no conscious thoughts as I free myself of what was and open myself to what is.

Emotions run high as I close my eyes in anticipation and begin to walk slowly up the spiral staircase. I can hear my own heart beat as I go into a deep meditative state. A sense of calm leads me to the wood door I know so well. As I gently place my hand on it, I feel his energy flood the room. He was waiting for me this time. His energy wraps around me, he is home, he is safe, he is pure undeniable love. I see more clearly than I have ever before, yet my eyes are gently closed. Our breath synchronizes, building with each moment. He is warm, the air is cool…a sensual contrast. His strength is more powerful and protective of me this time. He is ready to take the next step. I hear him inhale my essence as he comes close to touching me. His thoughts pure and intimate pull me closer to him with each breath.

I yearn for him to reach out and touch my heart with his bare hands. I need to feel his flesh come alive. Without words, sideway glances, a breath away from our eyes connecting for the first time. I feel him brush against me sending shivers down my spine. I have no control of my movements. He wants desperately for me to look deep into his eyes, I can feel it. I slip back and forth from thought to feeling, unable to see him clearly. Something is coming between us I can’t control. My thoughts overpower my feelings holding my heart at bay. I keep gently slipping away connected by the thread of desire. Desire to feel his entire being collide with mine.

He stands behind me close enough to feel his breath on my neck. His lips graze my cheek. His scent is intoxicating. His hands wrap around me like a force protecting me from the world that surrounds us. I stand in the shadows of my dream not wanting to return, not knowing what will happen next.

The morning air waits patiently for me to open my eyes as I start my decent from the night. A breeze gently blow a wave of emotions across my exposed skin. The moment I am conscious the feeling of his warmth washes over me. My night dream comes rushing back as tears flow down my cheeks, knowing. Laying half naked not ready to open my eyes I relive the feelings from the night. My heart steps back into the shadow as my thoughts wake with the sun.

I can recall the feeling as my memory fades, so familiar it haunts me.

Svaha S.S ~ “Gone, Gone, Gone”

As you all know I am a Huge Fan of Phillip Phillips! This is one of my favourite songs from his New Album The World From The Side of The Moon.

I have this CD and love it! I simply couldn’t live without music! Musicians give us such a gift and for that, I am grateful! Gone, Gone, Gone…listen to the words!

Mommy’s Little Helpers…

If you consider yourself a well-seasoned Mom as I do, you have to give thanks to all the little things that help you get through the day. Life can be filled with uncertainty but if you arm yourself with ways to rouse your inner calm your day will end with a smile…trust me!

Now, if you’re a pill popper you need to listen up, there are better ways to take the edge off! I highly recommend all of them, with the exception of my daughter, she’s mine!

Today I give thanks to…

  • My Daughter was born a natural giver. She has a strong voice already! I have no doubt I will hear her roar many times along her path into Womanhood and help where she sees the opportunity! She doesn’t hesitate to jump in and lend a hand! She is heading towards being a strong, self-sufficient, independent young woman!

  • Malbec…my little Red full-bodied friend that has been known to take the edge off from time to time. I am not talking about putting on your wine-goggles with the girls, I mean a 6oz glass of la-la juice prescribed by Dr.Chaos! I don’t condone drinking by yourself EVERY night but they do say Red Wine is good for you…in more ways than one! I’m still not completely on board with this ‘drinking alone thing‘ but I’m willing to give it a try! 😉

  • Music is my favourite way to escaping the chaos that comes with being a Mom! Give my ears a sexy deep male voice strumming an acoustic guitar and I can tune out whatever you ask me to! Hell, a bomb could go off in the next room and I’d still be in bliss! Music soothes my soul and has helped me off the edge more than once! Sing to me Romeo!

  • Calgon Dish Soap ~’Calgon take me away’…ya no, didn’t work for me! False advertising for sure…and one more thing, the Mom who smiles and thinks it’s no big deal as the dog covered in mud runs through her kitchen leaving a frickin mess everywhere is on drugs just FYI! No Mom would stand for that unless she was!

~ insert deep breath here ~

  • Meditation however you choose to do it, a run, reading, traditional style, motorcycle ride, yoga or sitting in silence. Being peaceful is so important but hard to do as a Mom with a never-ending ‘to-do’ list floating around her head! Turn it off and just be. You deserve time!

  • Rescue Remedy“no really…it’s just flowers” says the hippy chick who wishes she lived in the 60’s where there was nothing but free love ~ (no seriously every Mom I know has a bottle in her purse) It works and comes in drops or spray…smooths the jagged edge of life restoring your inner calm! ssssquirt…ahhhhh…that’s better, shall we carry on!
  • Candles & Bubbles…add a Magnum of Vino Rosa and that naked sexy man with the deep voice whose strumming his guitar in your imagination and Voila…what kids? Life in the moment has arrived! You’re allowed to say to your offspring “don’t bother me unless you’re bleeding” in this situation!

So go crack that bottle of Red, take your imagination off stand-by and ask the man you sleep next to or the dude you wish you did to run you a hot steamy fragrant bubble bath, turn on some tunes, lock the door behind you and relax! You will be thankful you did!

What helps you get through the day?

Big Dreams Really Do Come True!

If you love music as much as I do you probably watched American Idol at some point this year. I got hooked the first time I saw Philip Phillips audition. He blew me away, reminding much of Dave Matthews who I am a big fan of. I’d love to hear his rendition of ‘Crash into Me’. Philip has a raw natural talent and stayed true to himself throughout the entire season. A true musician.

I sent him a Facebook message at the beginning of the season telling him I loved his musical expression and I hoped he would go all the way, and low and behold he responded to me with gracious thanks and asked if I write songs. Phil Phillips has shown us that Dreams Really Do Come True! Even really BIG ones!

I watched the season finale and have to admit I had tears rolling down my cheeks along with everyone else who watched this talented young man break down on stage. It must have felt so surreal. His dream came true while being watched by millions of fans and his family was standing right in front of him. Powerful indeed! He walked off stage in tears and headed straight Home where he was embraced by loving proud supportive arms. What a thrill for his parents and relatives! Life may change for Philip but I have a feeling he will remain the same! There is something so special about watching a dream be reached, it inspires all of us to reach for the star!

Dream Big!

Just Awesome! Congratulation Philip! ((((((smile))))) I look forward to watching you grow and unfold, creating music that inspires all of us!

Season finale…

Here is the entire song for those who want to see it in complete form. 😉

Embrace Change ~

“Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.” Dalai Lama

I am not talking about the change of life. I am not there yet but I sense I will sail right through it with flying colours when it does come for me. I greet most change with “I’ve been expecting you.” Change is good, but not all change is welcomed right away. Comfort can sometimes lull us into a false sense of security. I admit I’ve become comfortable at times in my life and it seems that is when change has thrown me off balance, clubbed me right over the head knocking me to the ground! Nothing I can’t handle. I simply need time to process things, get a better understanding of where I am and what I need to do in order to move forward. I take a little time to collect my thoughts, stand back up, brush myself off, get my bearing and off I go. I am a trooper willing to do work and represent who I am to the core.

Every now and then I feel like I am on an island by myself with nothing but the cloths on my back. When I feel like this I try to figure out what lesson I am meant to learn on my own. Sometimes the most valuable ones in life are learned while standing solo. These are the times in life we need to do things on our own, just to be reminded that we can.

Different elements in our life adjust and shift into place, it’s a natural ebb and flow of what must be. Life is about balance, without it we tend to wobble here and there. If we don’t have balance we can’t find our flow. We need change sometimes in order to allow us to evolve and unfold instigating a move in the right direction. We need to step up and face the music so to speak. I have to admit at times I’ve want to turn the music OFF…and then a reallllly good song comes on distracting me and I’m right back to singing along. Look something shiny! Ebb and flow!

Music has helped me through lots of change in my life because it empowers and lifts my spirit just when I need it. Running is essential for me to feel balance and girlfriends, well they just simply rock my world in a way a man wouldn’t begin to know how. Women naturally nurture and support each other when change steps out unannounced. We can all relate to each other to some degree. We have either been there, done that, bought the T-shirt or we know someone who has. I also love my amazing man-friends who are able to put things into a different perspective for me. Male energy has a way of seeing through the clutter of emotions, getting right down to the nitty gritty of what’s going on. It’s important to have a wide variety of friends both male and female energy, it helps give a more well rounded view of life as we walk through it.

I know I am loved by many and supported in everything I take on in life. It’s nice to know that when you feel like you’re walking on uneven ground there is someone who senses you need a hand. I am grateful for everyone who has given me their support that has ultimately helped me continue down my path in life with a huge smile on my face. (((((smile)))))

Embrace change everyone! I am here if you need a hand to hold, a shoulder to lean on, a giggle, a hug or simply a smile. We are meant to lift one another in life to another level of understanding, embracing the change along the way!

Just keep in mind when change comes knocking at your door, you don’t need to answer it until your ready. If it sneaks up on you, just know that you’re not expected to know what to do right away, but eventually it will all become very clear!

Embrace Change…

“It is not the strongest of the species
that survives, nor the most intelligent,
but the one most responsive to change.”

Pro’s to Being Attached ~ (part two)

Two weeks ago I shared my list of some Pro’s to Being Single. Ask a young single male what’s on his list, and I’m certain it would grow ten fold. Ask a man who is afraid of commitment and the list, which is no doubt written in stone, takes on a life of its own. Ask someone who lost a love and yet another view. Married, Single, Divorced, Separated, Unavailable, Chicken we all have different lists. We all have Pro’s and Con’s depending where we are in life, what we want, need, or are ready for. We go from being single to attached when we meet someone we don’t want to be without and vice-versa!

Pro’s to Being Attached ~

  • Butterflies escape each time your thoughts go to the man you fiercely desire ~
  • You have a smile on your face that whispers “I have a secret” that comes from deep inside your soul ~
  • When you lock the door, it’s just you, him and passion bouncing off the walls, ceiling and floor ~
  • Music fills the air regardless if the stereo is on ~
  • Your heart races, feeling like it’s going to beat right out of your chest when you hear his sexy voice ~
  • Your desire to be naked outweighs your common sense *wink* ~
  • Travel and life experience is enriched when you are together ~
  • You rush home when you have GREAT News to share ~
  • The messy bed is a reminder of what you have, just had, are going to have & want more of ~
  • When you slip between the sheets his essence is still there, because he is ~
  • You subconsciously inhaling deeply when he enters the room darting straight to his neck, scent is intoxicating ~
  • You cook together, teasing one another…dinner goes cold more often than not ~
  • You wake up in the middle of the night with his arms wrapped around you feeling safe and loved ~
  • You can lay in bed talking to the wee hours of the morning face to face, or spoon in silence ~
  • He loves when you are right out of the shower, fresh and natural ~
  • You yearn to be in his presence, he embraces you for all you are ~
  • He loves your new tattoo, because he loves you ~
  • He wants to kiss you Good-night, Good-afternoon & Good-morning ~
  • He makes the BEST morning coffee that has ever touched your lips ~
  • Your family becomes his and his becomes yours ~
  • You have a go-to-guy when you need one ~
  • You have a male best friend…not to be mistaken for a girlfriend ~
  • When you go out with the girls, he’s there keeping the bed warm ~
  • Sex, sex, sex that leads somewhere magical ~
  • Intimacy ~
  • Lust and Love are experienced together, growing deeper with time ~
  • You have a man to grow old with, share life with, unfold with ~
  • You can look into his eyes from across the room knowing he’s yours later ~
  • (Insert record scratching sound here)…and then he says something that totally pisses you off and it’s like some total hottie came by and fertilized the crap out of the grass on the ‘other-side’ making it greener than you have EVER seen before…and the ‘other’ list grows…the End ~
  • Sorry I couldn’t resist! My only advice if you’re thinking of making a list…use pencil!
  • Btw the grass is NOT always greener on the ‘other-side’ but it is greener where you fertilize it…just sayin ~

It’s wonderful when you meet the right person and commit to them with mind, body and spirit, the hard part is finding the right person. When you do you don’t need a list.

Life is Meant to Be Shared...eventually when the time and person is right ~

“Kiss You Good-Morning” ~

In last weeks post I started a list to see the Pro’s & Con’s in regard to being single. I conveniently ran out of time 😉 therefore not listing any Con’s…and looky here it’s a week later and I have conveniently avoided that post again. Hmmmm I say with chin resting between thumb and pointer finger, tapping pointer on my cheek. To be completely honest…I’m just not feelin it. I will trust my instinct and wait until I am ready. I am learning patience in my life right now and we all know timing is everything. Maybe next week I will have a list worthy of sharing…you can trust me, I’m good for it!

Go ahead and read between the lines if you like. I do have a list, I just don’t want my ‘mood’ to dictate it’s deliciousness…see even saying deliciousness has changed my ‘mood’ ever so slightly. I promise my list will be worth the wait!

Being kissed Good-Morning is definitely on my list!

Jake Owens voice and lyrics might get me into the mood to finish my post…

Jake Owens…(thanks for sharing him with me Tannia!)

Come back tomorrow and I will share with you a romantic interlude from my All Things Sexy and Silver website…”In the Light of the Moon” ~

Pro’s to Being Single ~ (part one)

Yesterday Melissa joined us as a Guest Blogger and shared her passion for photography along with some insight of who she captures in her beautiful photographs. I let out a *romantic sigh* after reading each vignette she shared. Thanks again Melissa!

Although we are not all searching for that romantic tale I think we all feel a warmth when we see photographs of those who have clearly found it. You never know for sure when or if that person is going to walk into your life. Are you ready for them to? Should you have to be? Does fate or destiny wait for us if we’re not?

We all know I love words and messages, words and romance are my passion. Words on a list can sometimes help you decide what to do. Since I was a child I have had a hard time choosing between two of…pretty much everything. So today I decided to use my words, to make a list, to visually see if I am ready to drip with passion for the male energy! What are you willing to give up for love?

Pro’s 🙂 to Being Single;

  • You don’t have to shave your legs, or wax…a saving of approx $500 bucks a month depending on how Yeti-ish you are…keep in mind that if you get into an accident, first responders are Firemen and Murphy’s Law would have it that they’d need to cut your pants off. Weigh that one carefully ladies! (guys, it doesn’t really cost $500 bucks!)
  • You can wear what-ever you want, when-ever you want, to where-ever you want, with whom-ever you want, for how-ever long you want, or simply stay home and walk around naked! (when kids aren’t home)
  • When you lock your door, it’s just you and the 4 walls that envelope your existence, peace and quiet! (with no kids)
  • You can crank the stereo with whatever music you choose for your interlude and loop one song all day long if you want! (until kids come home)
  • Your mess is your mess, the house is as you left it. (with no kids)
  • Never ever will the waft under the blankets be foreign. (thanks for that most important point Tannia) (unless a kids in the bed)
  • You can eat popcorn and jello cups for dinner. Quick and easy! (I feed my kids)
  • You get all the covers, pillows and can sleep on any side of the bed you want and there is a huuuuge cold spot waiting for your leg to stretch to in the middle of the night. I call that the sweet spot! (unless a kids in the bed)
  • You can talk on the phone until the wee hours of the morning with whom-ever you want, in flannels with a mud mask on. (saying of course you’re naked) (unless a kids in the bed)
  • Make-up, what make-up? (kids could care less)
  • F-r-e-e-d-o-mmmmmm…sing it with me! Plain and simple, no one to answer to but yourself! (kids don’t let me sing)
  • Do I want another Tattoo? Yup…done!

That’s obviously just a few Pro’s of being single coming from a woman (with kids) ask a man and I am sure we would get an entirely different selection…ask a married man/woman and yet even more!

I just reread my post and I think I need to get rid of the kids! 😉 I’m Kidd-ing!

Pro’s to Being Attached ;

  • Hmmmm…let me think? Ummmm…well? Sheesh…well all-righty then! I’m all outta time  so next week I will share some Pro’s to Being Attached…if I can come up with any?  😉

Don’t be shy…go ahead and add your Pro to the comments!

Music is the Cure…

First I must thank Bonnie and Jacquie for the beautiful surprise of having Lawrence join us yesterday by adding his voice which I have loved since the day we connected. My heart is overflowing!  I have so many wonderful people in my life to be grateful for…Thank you all for making my day special! xo

I love listening to music. For me Music is the cure to everything. Music adds an element to life that I think without it, would be flat. When you mix your favourite tunes with pretty much anything I think it opens something up in your mind letting in a creative energy that can’t help but inspire. Words inspire, but when accompanied by music…they embody the feelings. It clears my mind, exhilarates my body and makes my spirit soar!

My favourite is listening to music live. There is something about watching the passion in another human being as they create or play music. It’s a gift that eluded me unfortunately. 🙁 I couldn’t sing to save my life, and although I’ve tried strumming the acoustic guitar, it is much more difficult than it looks. Drums…not sure how anyone can coordinate doing 4 things at different speeds all at the same time, that boggles my mind. I am okay with being the one who sits and enjoys listening to others play their passion. It’s when you can turn off your touch, smell, sight, taste and just focus on listening…

I am drawn to musician, and not just the handsome variety, the female energy also. I am envious of their ability to create something so beautiful.

Music can change or enhance any mood your in. Enya makes me fantasize about ball room dancing and Madonna makes me not give a fat babies ass (to quote PitBull) what anyone thinks of me. Rob Thomas’s ‘smooth’ vocals melt me. Enigma as Bonnie has posted about in the past is the Best Music to Have Sex To (Bonnies words and post not mine…ya I know!) giggle!

I love finding new music, it’s why I watch the Grammy’s, they were awesome by the way if you missed them on Sunday night! I was just turned onto Walk Off The Earth…simply awesome! Such a creative group of musicians who went viral overnight! Magic!

Music is the cure to all lifes trials and tribulations…in my opinion.

Musicians are Sexy…  (my post from All Things Sexy and Silver…it just seemed to fit)

There is something overwhelmingly sexy about a man who can create music. “Music is how feeling sound”...(one of my favourite quotes) Woman are drawn to men who can express feeling, whether it be through the simplicity of words strung together, or a melody that pulls at our heart strings. When a man learns to read the music of a womens heart he captures her.

“Music is the art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony and colour.” A man who can create feelings with his unique interpretation of those elements has a powerful presence. Is it the man that seduces us or do we open ourselves to the poetic features of music and allow the man to enter because he holds a key? Music is a form of expression more unique than language, it adds the element of vibrationally energy that although we can’t all create, we have an insatiable desire to hear and feel it.

Music allows us to open our minds, to a level of consciousness far beyond what we are used to. When we open our mind, body and spirit to it, our soul dances. When we open our mind body and spirit to the one who creates the music we dance together.

The mind of a musician is on a frequency that’s invisible to some. When a single note is released it affects us like a scent traveling through the atmosphere until it become a mere whisper. It touches each of us in a unique way, taking us to places we’ve been before and those we have yet to explore. Allow yourself the pleasure of getting lost in the music, or the musician who is creating it. Make a Memory ~

Musicians captivate crowds with their art form that allows the listener to join with them on their intimate journey of interpretation. They surrender to the music as they perform. We connect with then as we allow our feeling to surface as we listen. The vibrational rhythm is not only heard, it’s felt by every cell of our body transcending us to a place that feels like no other.

It’s one thing in life I wouldn’t want to live without.

Music is the prelude to everything…

Instrument of Peace ~ Ukulele

On Thanksgiving my Dad showed me a video of Jake Shimabukuro rocking the Uke. The very next day another handsome friend of mine showed me him playing Bohemiam Rhapsody by Queen. I had to share…

Jake Shimabukuro thinks of the Ukulele as the Instrument of Peace and an underdog in the instrument world. That is changing as the Ukulele movement, revolution even, travels around the world and enlightens each of us.

I had no idea a Ukulele could sound so cool until I saw a friends daughter Sally play with the Langley Ukulele Ensemble a few years back. Her daughter Katie also plays, both are in the video below. If you ever get the chance to see the Langley Ukulele Ensemble, take it they are incredible entertainers! Enjoy the videos and musical interlude!

Here is a peak into the ‘Ukulele Instrument of Peace’ World…

Fear is the Thief of Dreams…Gandhi ~

I was talking to a man-friend of mine about living life with no fear. We both agreed there is no other way to live. He believes “fear usually lives in things unfinished or never done.” I think timing can also play a key role in dreams or goals unfinished or never done. We need to stay tapped into our passion no matter how little time we have for it, keeping our dreams alive!

“Don’t dream your life, but live your dream” ~ Mark Twain

Do you ever wonder why you do certain things? Why do you connect so easily with some but not others? Why did you take Spanish out of the blue? Do you ever wonder how something you’re doing now is going to relate to your future? It’s all about connecting the dots. I often wonder what is the purpose of me writing? Its not for the huge paycheck. Here’s why ~

“Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don’t feel I should be doing something else” ~ Gloria Steinem.

It’s about passion. I am passionate about love and life and write in hopes of keeping my passion for it alive. It’s all about sharing my passion and hopefully inspiring those around me while doing so. When you do what you’re passionate about you find what you are seeking in life, changing the energy around you. You can’t inspire others if you are full of regret because of things unfinished or never done. Even if your passion is a hobby, do it for the simple pleasure of doing it.

My life with no fear is pretty simple ~ live each moment open and honest sharing what life has to offer with those around me. I get inspiration from nature, in particular water. I can sit for hours in awe of its vast magnificence. It both calms and excites me. It has such power and peacefulness. Turbulent on top yet tranquil underneath where there is an entirely different world waiting to be explored if we just dip below its surface without fear. Dip below the surface of life and see what it has to offer. We often fear the unknown, yet our world is surround by it. “Fear is the thief of dreams” ~ Gandhi.

Music also inspires and stimulates my creative thoughts. Music opens me. It sends me back to where I’ve been and takes me to where I dream of being. It stirs my soul, balances my being and tunes my emotion.

Unique human beings also inspire me. I admire those who live outside of their comfort zone, very few have the courage to do so. I have only written about a few but there are many. I crave those who make me think and feel emotions that frighten me. I have the desire to write when emotions are stirred deep inside. Then is when I feel truly alive.

So if I were to be living my dream with no fear I would be gazing into a body of water with music in the air writing passionately about life and love, in the company of a man who stirs all of my emotions. Living your dream doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about making memories and each moment count. It’s not about what you have, it’s about what you do with your passion.

When I saw the movie Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner I wanted to be her. A romance novelist on an adventure, in the end she finds her own love and sails away living her dream. I want my life to be filled with adventure, love and passion worthy of inspiring me to write. I want to write about real romance, not harlequin romance, real romantic adventure.

That’s MY Dream!

Life is what you make it. If you do what you love I think everything else just happens. Follow your passion.  Make your dreams a reality…jump!

I must be in tune with the Universe because this was the Postcard from Gusto this glorious morning…

Inspiration is All Around Us!

I was inspired by Bonnie and John while visiting them in Vernon last week. It’s so obvious when you’re in their presence that they’re still so in-love. I found myself smiling each time I caught them having a moment. It’s awesome to see your best friend happily married to a great man that you absolutely love! They are definitely not edging towards a statistic in their marriage. You can see in their eyes that they appreciate the time they have together. Seizing moments and making each one count. Love is inspiring!

l am inspired by a friend of mine Ryan. I posted about his blog a couple of times when he took an adventure to Africa to become a Safari Guide. Ryan in Africa. He lives life on the edge…his edge, which is much different from everyone else’s! He has such a thirst for life that never quite gets quenched. He’s definitely living while he’s alive! When you’re in his company you can’t help but want to touch him in hopes that his infectious attitude rubs off on you, even just a little bit! He said he “lives life with no fear, apologizes for nothing, doesn’t regret his mistakes, learns from them because sometimes his mistakes produce the best results!” That’s inspiring! Love the man and can’t wait to see where his next adventure takes him. Ryan inspires me!

I am inspired by my friend Kirk who I admire for leaving a great career in special effects in the film industry for music. He followed his passion for music making a career out of it. Sound Lounge Productions a recording studio was born from Kirk following his dream. He took a chance in life that not many would have had the courage to do. Kirk spends his day with creative souls who also have a dream that he helps them reach, how sweet is that! Check out Kirks band SWANK, you’ll love them! He is living proof that if you believe in yourself, work hard and do what you love…they will come! Kirk inspires me continually! He was kind enough to take time out of his busy day to show my kids and I around his studio, it was awesome! His tools are drums, guitars and lots of fun buttons how fun is that! You choice is looking good on ya Kirk! Thank you for the music lesson we loved it immensely! Following your dream is inspiring!

So if you take the time to open your eyes there truly is inspiration all around you! These are just a few things that caught my eye last week. Inspiration comes in so many different forms…what inspires you? Care to share some inspiration with us? Inspiration moves us in the right direction…

I saw this posted on Facebook. It basically summed it up for me and although you may have seen it, it is something you couldn’t possibly read too many times.

Svaha Spirit Series: IL Volo ~

My Mom sent me the link to this video and I honestly thought it was a prank. I actually googled Il Volo after watching the entire video because I was still in disbelief that the voices I heard were truly theirs. They are!!! What is it about Italian men! Incredible language, passion and sex appeal! I’m moving to Italy!

I am also a fan of Il Divo but they are grown men so they should sound like grown men. These are boys that sound like grown men. I can’t believe this…

And here are the men of Il Divo…enjoy!

Meditation T-Style

We all have five minutes to spare and if we don’t we seriously need to reevaluate our lives. Listen to the music I’ve added below and try my meditation. I run to meditate and this is what I visualize when I get into my zone.

I imagine myself moving freely to the music rain dance style with absolutely no inhibitions! None…zilch…zero…nada! Visualize Jim Morrison dancing around the desert on ecstasy. That’s me but without the psychedelic drug, just high on life! Now there’s a visual!

As my body moves to the music I visualize everything that weighs me down on the surface of my skin. It starts to rain and my cleanse begins. My body ((((vibrates)))) to the energy of the music and like beads of water my murky clouded thoughts start to slowly roll off the surface of my skin. Acknowledging these thoughts will allow you to release them. Your body will start to feel lighter while you continue to move freely.

Your thoughts, now clear beads, run into each other growing as they flow from your freshly cleansed skin. You will start to feel empowered ready to face the world.

Your skin is now silky and smooth covered in a protective oil.

I end my run with the feeling of having my arms open to what ever comes my way. I believe meditation is why I am able to move forward so easily in life. I let go of anything negative that might hold me back. I meditate and visualize this release on a regular basis. It gets easier each time. Any music works as long as you can get lost in it. I like music that has an escalating beat and Madonna’s ‘Let It Will Be’ is one of many that works for me. Sometimes you just have to Let It Will Be.

I just got back from a run and I feel INCREDIBLE! There’s NOTHING better than having every drop of blood in your body vibrating to music created by great musicians!

(((((smile)))))

Music is what feelings sound like ~ unknown quote (thanks H.M)

I am cleansed, clear and high on life! I have no intention of coming down any time soon! If you’d like to join me I’m right up here, the more the merrier!

Thoughts become things…pick the good ones!

Svaha Spirit Series: Ignite Your Light!

I spent the entire weekend watching young girls ignite their light. I get goose bumps every time I watch my daughters dance studio perform in front of a full auditorium. They have all come so far over the years. It gives me shivers to see such confidence. My daughter started out being the little girl who had to watch everyone else to make sure she was doing the right move. This year she didn’t just dance, she rocked it! Her confidence allowed her to feel the music and dance like no one was watching!

This is the song she listens to on our way to dance competitions. She told me she likes it because it inspires you to be yourself. She was brighter than the moon!

I am so proud of you and all your friends for being yourselves. You’re amazing just the way you are! xo
