Fear is the Thief of Dreams…Gandhi ~

I was talking to a man-friend of mine about living life with no fear. We both agreed there is no other way to live. He believes “fear usually lives in things unfinished or never done.” I think timing can also play a key role in dreams or goals unfinished or never done. We need to stay tapped into our passion no matter how little time we have for it, keeping our dreams alive!

“Don’t dream your life, but live your dream” ~ Mark Twain

Do you ever wonder why you do certain things? Why do you connect so easily with some but not others? Why did you take Spanish out of the blue? Do you ever wonder how something you’re doing now is going to relate to your future? It’s all about connecting the dots. I often wonder what is the purpose of me writing? Its not for the huge paycheck. Here’s why ~

“Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don’t feel I should be doing something else” ~ Gloria Steinem.

It’s about passion. I am passionate about love and life and write in hopes of keeping my passion for it alive. It’s all about sharing my passion and hopefully inspiring those around me while doing so. When you do what you’re passionate about you find what you are seeking in life, changing the energy around you. You can’t inspire others if you are full of regret because of things unfinished or never done. Even if your passion is a hobby, do it for the simple pleasure of doing it.

My life with no fear is pretty simple ~ live each moment open and honest sharing what life has to offer with those around me. I get inspiration from nature, in particular water. I can sit for hours in awe of its vast magnificence. It both calms and excites me. It has such power and peacefulness. Turbulent on top yet tranquil underneath where there is an entirely different world waiting to be explored if we just dip below its surface without fear. Dip below the surface of life and see what it has to offer. We often fear the unknown, yet our world is surround by it. “Fear is the thief of dreams” ~ Gandhi.

Music also inspires and stimulates my creative thoughts. Music opens me. It sends me back to where I’ve been and takes me to where I dream of being. It stirs my soul, balances my being and tunes my emotion.

Unique human beings also inspire me. I admire those who live outside of their comfort zone, very few have the courage to do so. I have only written about a few but there are many. I crave those who make me think and feel emotions that frighten me. I have the desire to write when emotions are stirred deep inside. Then is when I feel truly alive.

So if I were to be living my dream with no fear I would be gazing into a body of water with music in the air writing passionately about life and love, in the company of a man who stirs all of my emotions. Living your dream doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about making memories and each moment count. It’s not about what you have, it’s about what you do with your passion.

When I saw the movie Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner I wanted to be her. A romance novelist on an adventure, in the end she finds her own love and sails away living her dream. I want my life to be filled with adventure, love and passion worthy of inspiring me to write. I want to write about real romance, not harlequin romance, real romantic adventure.

That’s MY Dream!

Life is what you make it. If you do what you love I think everything else just happens. Follow your passion.  Make your dreams a reality…jump!

I must be in tune with the Universe because this was the Postcard from Gusto this glorious morning…

Girlfriend Bonding Recipe

TracyGirlfriend bonding is equally as important as spending time by yourself.  It’s empowering to spend time with girlfriends sharing stories, swapping tips, giving opinions, and belly laughing for days in a row.  I think I have found the perfect recipe for a just that!

It starts with a destination of your choice, add girlfriends for spice and mix in a few excursions here and there.  Let the conversations marinade and Voila the recipe is complete!

Jacquie and I went for a road trip up to the Okanagan to spend time with our BFF and partner Bonnie for a little girlfriend bonding of our own.  The road trip gave Jacquie and I lots of time to catch up and reconnect before arriving at Bonnie‘s house.

We started out with a day of stimulating conversations which really got our creative juices flowing.  Being in the same room together allowed us to really get the others vibe!

We went to Genesis Designs Tattoo and made a memory together that can’t be removed…easily!  What a powerful moment that was for all three of us.  If you missed it check it out, Tara Cronica Ink’d at Genesis Designs Tattoo.

Predator Ridge SpaWhat’s a girlfriend bonding getaway without a Spa experience.  We had ours at The Predator Ridge Spa.  I chose a facial which was a combination of two, Aveda Green Science Facial & Enbrightenment Facial.  If I had to describe my facial in one word it would be ’Spiritual’.  For 60 magical minutes I was pampered by Michelle Snider. Michelle’s hands and expertise made my entire facial heavenly and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better…it did.  My face, shoulders, chest, feet and scalp were massaged.  My facial included hot lavender face wraps, essential oils, hot rock massage, brushed on luscious creams and gentle steam.  I was massaged, cleansed, moisturised and reminded how wonderful it was to be a woman.  I will definitely book an appointment with Michelle on my next visit.

The reconnecting with Bonnie and Jacquie made our bond even stronger than it was before.  It’s important to have a place you feel safe to express yourself and girlfriend getaways are the perfect venue.  We hope that coming here to Tara Cronica to visit gives you a sense of that girlfriend bonding experience when you can’t create an excursion of your own.  We are all on the path to enlightenment and welcome you to join us on ours.  We hope we make you feel comfortable to add your comments or let your voice be heard through this medium.

These moments together have reminded me how lucky I am to be surrounded by friends who are so amazing, non judgmental, giving and effortless to be around!  Svaha !

Can you feel it? The ‘Chi’ that is..

Symbol for Chi“Chi” is generally defined as “energy” or the “source of life.” The most ancient symbol for Chi, however, is three wavy lines which literally mean “air.” This is possibly why lung capacity is so important to maintaining your energy levels.

I had a completely different post prepared for today but after reading Jacquie’s post on Chi I felt inspired to continue along the same line because my comment on her post took on a life of it’s own.

Whether you believe in Chi or can even relate to it, you have to admit that when you go to certain places you feel inspired either while you are there or after you leave.  That happened to me yesterday while visiting with a very talented jewelry designers who creates unique pieces, all having a story.  I used to create jewelry myself a couple of years ago so I found her space very inspiring.  It made me want to bring out my tools and start creating again.  I am amateur in comparison and loved seeing the passion this designer has for the whole process.  Energy is what we felt in her home yesterday and for me it was a combination of several different kinds.  Artistic, Women Inspiring and Karmic!

People have an Aura of energy surrounding them that we all feel instinctively.  I think we cross paths with certain people in our lives at the time we are meant to.  We are naturally drawn to people with positive energy.  Creative people are naturally tuned into this energy field and are able to use the energy they feel to create whatever it may be.  A painter for example.  When I walk into Jacquie’s home and she has her paintings leaning casually against the base of the walls, I feel her energy in them!  They are inviting me to come take a closer look like they were programed to draw me near.  Her energy and inspiration rubs off on me when I touch them.

I think when you are open to this kind of energy you feel it everywhere you go whether it be from a person, place or thing, it’s there!   When I simply saw the picture of the new painting Jacquie is working on I naturally leaned in closer to my computer!  I think because even a picture of her beautiful painting has the energy she gives it while passionately creating it.  I LOVE Jacquie’s art and the colours she chooses, they make me smile.  I envy her ability to create beautiful art with a brush and oils.  I felt the same way yesterday when we were looking at a table full of …..creative energy!  Ha ! My lips are sealed for now.  When a room has Chi  and is combined with the artists energy, creative juices and passion for what they do, you can just feel it through the souls of your feet, and finger tips when you are invited to touch!  That is what keeps you there wanting to absorb more.

I too have had our home painted several times and until the latest we just weren’t  feelin it!  We would walk in our house and it felt like we were in the Gate room of the Stargate SG1!  Green concrete.  It was a popular colour in the magazines but for us it simply had no inspiration.  Now we have two shades of yellow which gives the room a Mediterranean feel.  Two very different feeling without a doubt.  I also painted my office before starting to write for Tara Cronica  because I knew I wouldn’t want to be in a room if I didn’t feel inspired.  I will admit though, I am sitting at my living room table looking out my front window at a wall of luscious green trees with sunlight streaming through the leaves.  I am inspired right here, so yes my room has ‘Chi’!

My Morning Pages

Typewritter
When you discover or rediscover what your passion is and immerse yourself in it sometimes it can take awhile to get your creative juices flowing freely again.

Tara Cronica is my passion.  Writing content to fill the pages is a process that I have been working on for months.  I wanted to share with you what is helping me get back in touch with my creative side.

My two partners Jacquie and Bonnie both suggested I read the book ‘the Artist’s Way’ by Julia Cameron, where she suggests you write what are called your morning pages. You are meant to sit uninterrupted and write three handwritten pages of what ever comes to mind.  Bonnie does this religiously and loves it.  I do it on occasion as well but I have another version of what also works for me.  I run while listening to music.  Music inspires me to write and running is my form of meditation.  I open my mind to any thought that might want to enter.  As soon as I set out on my run my attitude immediately changes and I feel empowered.  Running to me is my morning pages.  I get exercise, fresh air, meditate and some really great ideas to write about.  I haven’t solved the worlds problems yet but I am working on it.  Try it, I highly recommend it!
