Svaha S.S ~ Love is All You Need!

IMG_4459My daughter shared this video with me, I had to pass it on. It is an important message that unfortunately is still not embraced by everyone in the world in which we live. Love is all you really need! When we feel loved, we flourish! We grow and pass that very same love we received on to others.

Give Love ~

Accept everyone for who they are ~

Stand up for those who are not brave enough…yet ~

With support and courage we can make a difference in the lives of those less courageous ~

Expose Yourself

Expose yourself screenshot
625565_10151296502307032_1928783634_nBonnie exposed herself last week…don’t rush and click the link to see a naked picture of her, I mean emotionally.

Women tend to share their fears and insecurities with other women, which takes courage and confidence. You take the chance of being judged. Occasionally we meet a man with whom we feel this comfort and we have the best of both worlds. Men on the other hand don’t share quite as easily with their mates as the female energy does. Men are brought up to be manly which unfortunately in society eyes doesn’t always include the expression of emotions. I want a man who can chop wood AND express his thoughts, desires, love, dreams, fears and insecurities <—–to be clear that is not my whole list of what I want my man to be 😉 There is nothing more liberating than being with someone you can say anything to regardless of how intimate or wildly crazy it may seem. When we feel safe, we share. When we share we build trust. Without trust we have nothing.

True raw emotions I believe should be shared. I am guilty of being too much of an open book at times, so balance is important. I am working on keeping my inner feelings to myself a tad longer, just in case they are hormone based shooting out of left field without any prior notice what-so-ever. It’s a struggle let me tell you! I wouldn’t be in some of the predicaments I find myself in if I kept my trap shut a little longer! Live and learn.

However…Our truth is who we are, like it or leave it. When we cease to share who we are, we stand still. It’s super safe…but a bit boring! We miss out on intimacy and moments that will allow us to grow with or without a partner. When we take a chance, the reward can be simply delicious! This is where balance comes in. Keeping a little bit of yourself for a rainy day kinda logic by balancing our truth and living in the moment pure and raw. It doesn’t matter how honest you want to be, sometimes it’s best to keep that thought close to your heart, even for a nanosecond longer before diving face first for that muddy landslide of fun and adventure. <~~~ You have to admit that sounds wayyyyy better than being in the safety zone! So Captain Careful (that’s me) suggests wearing safety goggles before you dive? Excuse me while I go shower off the mud on my face!

When I was in my twenties I wasn’t able to communicate well (go figure!) out of fear of being judged or left for that matter, so I didn’t say much of anything. Sadly in the end the relationship ended because I didn’t communicate, so holding back my words gave me the same result. Fear and insecurities come from a place when we are learning about life and who we are. They sit stagnant within our DNA waiting for a opportunity to expose themselves if we let them. I have worked hard on learning how to communicate well but every now and then I fear being judged and left and I raise my walls and stop communicating to avoid the inevitable! When you search back to the root or beginning of a fear we are able to face those fears and move on from them. “Fear is the Thief of Dreams” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

We all have insecurities and fears as Bonnie mentioned hers being the importance of what people think of her. Valid insecurity, we all want to be liked as human beings. We strive to be accepted and loved. Life is meant to be shared and no one wants to be left alone in life to fend for themselves forever! forever…forever…forever…forever.

I am in the process of facing a few fears of my own. What I have learned in the process is this…I am a survivor, I am able to take care of myself and family all by myself…if need be! I know I don’t have to, if I would just learn to use my words and ask for help when I need it. I am strong, independent, self sufficient and I can do it alone but I am far from alone! I have a huge circle of male and female energy that if I reached out to, would be there with strength and a smile willing to help me.

Sooooo, judge me not unless you have walked in my shoes. Leave me if you choose. I will stand amongst my circle of true companions and live my life in the moment the best way I know how! Knowing I can survive on your own is empowering, admitting I don’t want to is my truth.

Svaha ~

The Light that Shines…A Story for All.

Tracy headshotI sat with tears steaming down my cheeks as I watched the empowering story of Jill Brzezinski-Conley. I felt a warm glow each time I saw her beauty grace the screen. Her story is one of love, strength and courage. We can all learn and grow as human beings from embracing such empowerment head on without fear! I will continue to live without fear and when it tries to seep back in I will think of Jill’s strength to keep it at bay! Thank you Jill for telling your story!

Sue Bryce helps Jill tell her story…

What Cancer cannot do…
Cancer is so Limited…
It cannot cripple love…
It cannot shatter hope…
It cannot corrode faith…
It cannot eat away at peace…
It cannot destroy confidence…
It cannot kill friendship…
It cannot shut of memories…
It cannot silence courage…
It cannot quench the spirit…

Just Let Go ~

Sometimes you just need to just let go with both hands! You don’t need to turn your back and walk away, just loosen your grip and let it slip, whatever ‘it’ is. It might be a job that isn’t inspiring you, a new romance that can’t quite find its way, a relationship that doesn’t feel right anymore but you can’t put your finger on why, or an answer to a question that keeps eluding you. No matter what it is if you give it back to the Universe and surrender I guarantee you will feel free and untangled. Clear your mind and let go of any thoughts that relate to what you are questioning. Set them free. You can only do so much to make things happen in life. When you feel you have done all you can it’s time to just let go.

After you let go you can look at what you set free with a clearer understanding. It will start to make more sense once you create some distance. Your mind can subconsciously process what it needs to without all the internal dialog interrupting constantly. It’s the same as when you can’t remember a name so you put it out of your mind and when you least expect it the name comes rushing back making you blurt it out loud. Have some faith in the magic of the Universes power. Sometimes things happen for reasons unclear to us. We need time to see why we didn’t walk down the path we thought was ours.

Trust your instincts! Do what feels right for you. You might be questioned from those standing on the side lines but again loosen your grip and let them slip! No one knows what’s best for you better than YOU! Staying true to yourself is all that matters in the end.

We get influenced by our fear of not having or doing what others perceive is right for us. We fear losing what we ‘had’ more than we have the insight to see what is ahead. ‘What-ifs‘ start to drift through our thoughts like the boogie man whispering…“careful there may not be another.” Don’t listen! What ever you let go of there will always be another ready to take its place whether it be a job, romance, sailboat, car, motorcycle, airplane ect. However, there is not another you so make you happy and all else will follow. In the end it either wasn’t meant to be or what you let go of will find its way back to you when the time is right.

There is always another romantic notion to ponder, job to explore, relationship to build or any other idea you let go of. When you have the courage to let go of something that doesn’t make you feel good or true to yourself, you are empowered by your action.

Just let go…and be  ~

P.S..as you all know I receive Postcards from Gusto. I couldn’t NOT share this mornings with you…funny right? Check it out! Timing is truly everything ~

I Want My Children to Know…

If you found out you were not going to be in your child’s future to talk to them about life and love, what would you want to say?

I remember seeing a Documentary years ago of a Mom who was dying of cancer. She recorded videos of herself where she gave her daughter encouragement or advice at specific milestones in life, like getting her period or her first date. It was heart breaking to watch. It must have been the most difficult thing she had ever done in life besides say good-bye. To have the courage and mind set to sit down and gather your thoughts let alone articulate advice you are not ready to give is overwhelming to even consider.

Her daughter would watch the videos when the time presented itself. Although it must have been difficult for her daughter to watch I am sure every word spoken was savoured. The strength of this woman was amazing and stayed with me for years. A Gift…

Things I want my Daughter & Son to know;

~ You’re perfect just the way you are.

~ Stay true to self.

~ Express your feelings no matter what they are; to whom ever they were meant to reach.

~ Never go to bed mad…

~ Always, always kiss your partner before they leave.

~ Never hold a grudge and never seek revenge no matter how hard it is.

~ Always forgive even if you can’t forget. In time you will.

~ Don’t spend too much time crying over the opposite sex, they are worth it but things always work out the way they should and only experience will show you that is true.

~ Never say never, because one day you will…

~ Love with your heart…reason with your head.

~ Touch is something that should never cease with your partner.

~ If you would rather be alone…make it happen.

~ Don’t let anyone take advantage of who you are.

~ Be open to everyone who walks through your door.

~ Don’t judge, it’s just not nice.

~ If you are going to say something about someone, be prepared to say it to their face.

~ If you are unsure of a situation and it involves making a choice…imagine me standing by your side and ask yourself…would I do this if my Mom were here? If not think about it a little longer.

~ Don’t gossip words hurt the most when used to make someone else feel bad.

~ Inspire one person everyday with something you do or say.

~ Your actions will speak much louder than your words.

~ Only marry for Love, not money, love will be there when money isn’t.

~ Never let anyone manipulate your heart. They shouldn’t want to.

~ Love deeply it is the only way.

~ It’s okay for a man to cry, it shows they will be a great Father.

~ Don’t fight unless you are truly passionate about what you are standing for.

~ Do unto others as you would have others do unto you…it’s a Golden Rule for a reason!

No one really knows how much time they have left on Earth. It’s so important to communicate and talk to those you love when the opportunity presents itself. I think what I would miss most was my kids sense of humor in the moment. The spontaneous sparing of funny things said…kind of like the old saying ‘I guess you had to be there.’

Be there because you can and are!

“Stepping Into The Ring” with the ‘C’ Word!

I always find it interesting that when we start a new month with a new ‘header‘ and ‘theme‘ that somehow our theme is identified in our topics. Jacquie created this months artwork and chose Finding Lyrical Beauty in Individuality’.

I was surfing the internet looking for interesting stuff to write about when I came across this video, it’s powerful! I lost my Grandfather and Aunty Margie to cancer. It seems that everyone is connected to someone who is either going through cancer treatment, has lost someone to cancer or has it in their own family.

Here are two examples of women who not only inspire but also have their own unique individuality. I shared a website with you a while back called Crazy Sexy Life and an uplifting documentary Crazy Sexy Cancer which was created by Kris Carr an actress/photographer. It’s all about Kris looking for a cure and finding life. Kris Carr was diagnosed with a rare and incurable cancer. Weeks later she began filming her story. Taking a seemingly tragic situation and turning it into a creative expression, Kris shared her inspirational story of survival with courage, strength, and lots of humour.

Nicole Johnson is a bestselling author, performer, and motivational speaker. Nicole’s ‘Fresh Brewed Life‘ message gives ‘Hope for the Daily Grind’. She addresses issues ranging from the comedic struggle of motherhood to the tragedy of dealing with breast cancer. Nicole’s sketch “Stepping Into the Ring” is for those fighting for hope over despair in the battle against cancer.

Inspiring Women Expressing Their Individuality ~

Whether it’s you fighting the battle against cancer or someone you know is, the human spirit is NEVER alone. There is always support and inspiration around us. Nothing can take your spirit unless you allow it to.

Spiritual Journey~

TracyIf you decided to go on a “Spiritual Journey” where would you go and what would you do?

“Your life is a sacred journey. And it is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path… exactly where you are meant to be right now… And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.”
Caroline Adams

Spirituality has long been associated with religion, deities, the supernatural, and an afterlife.  Many equate spirituality with religion, but the two are separate entities, religion being one way man experiences spirituality.  Spirituality may include introspection, and the development of an individuals inner life through practices such as meditation, prayer and contemplation.

Spiritual Journey’s can change and enrich your life.  Whether you ride your motorcycle down to Monument Valley or Hike in the Himalayan Mountains a spiritual journey is a very personal exploration of ones self.  We usually embark on such quests when we are aware that our spirituality need attention.  It can be described as an “Aha Moment” even.  It’s when you venture out of your comfort zone and look inward for answers to questions we all have.  “What is my purpose or path in life?”

If I were to go on a ‘Spiritual Journey’ I would pick one of two.  I would love to spend time with Buddhist Monks to learn about Meditation, Intention and Karma and I would also like to learn about Kabbalah. I have always believed that meditation is a huge part of being spiritual and can calm our souls and shed light on issues we all have.  Meditation means awareness.  “Watching your breath” is meditation; listening to the birds is meditation.   As long as these activities are free from any other distraction to the mind, it is effective meditation.  Meditation is not a technique but a way of life.  Meditation means ‘a cessation of the thought process’.  By meditating you are able to let go of your physical self and get in tune with your metaphysical side.  That is the Spiritual Journey I would like to embark on!

Post Insert Jacquie When I was in my twenties I had small kids that needed to be taken care of and the journey I was on was one of survival.  Mine and theirs.  I believed it was my sacred duty to make sure these young souls felt safe, secure and loved.  Now that I’m no longer necessary in quite the same way, I’ve felt the need to find other  ways to feel complete.  I’ve decided for me that means reaching beyond my comfort zone, past established boundaries and out into the community I share with my global neighbours.

I could answer this question metaphysically, but what I really think Tracy is asking in this post is for a literal description of where I want my spiritual journey to begin, or take shape.  I’ve actually been looking into a place in the Kootenays, about 9 hours from Vancouver near Nelson, BC, called Yasodhara Ashram.  I’ve never been anywhere near this area but I’ve heard of it’s natural beauty and peaceful majesty.  Yasodhara offers yoga, meditation and spiritual guidance for beginners like me all the way up to advanced practitioners.  I would love to spend a week or two by myself totally immersed in the everyday Ashram comings and goings and at the complete mercy of the program.  I would arrive with an open mind and heart and actively seek enlightenment or whatever came my way.   My spiritual journey is about enriching my life with experience and knowledge and I know a stay at the Ashram will only begin to heighten my awareness of all the work I have yet to do, but it’s a good start.   Think of it like an all-inclusive for the spiritual cherry-picker.  It may take several pilgrimages to find what works for you, but each attempt brings you closer to your goal.  Keeping an open mind is key.

Bonnie Johnson's Post

There are many places in the world that are considered “holy” or “spiritual” places to visit.  Places like Jerusalem, Tibet, Machu Picchu, etc.  Eckhart Tolle, who wrote “A New Earth” and “The Power of Now” has said he felt that the west coast of North America and specifically around Vancouver, BC had a strong positive energy which he was drawn to in order to write about his own spiritual journey.  I don’t doubt this.  I have been in different places in the world that seem to awaken something deep within me.  But a true spiritual journey is really about going within your Self.  I don’t think it matters as much about the ground beneath your feet as it does about the degree in which you can tune in to your Source (God/Spirit/Universe/insert whichever label you are comfortable with).

I believe a true spiritual journey is one that inspires you to connect with your own spirit.  I have felt that way when sitting on a flat rock beside a babbling creek in North Vancouver, while floating in a canoe in an underground river deep inside a cave in New Zealand, while looking out at the ocean on a beach in Australia, while exploring our beautiful British Columbian outdoors, and even while watching a spider working on its web in my own yard.  If a place inspires and stirs your soul then it is worth a journey to.  It may be its beauty, its energy or simply a memory it stirs up for you.  Wherever that is for you I hope you are able to go there often.

Just do it!

Tracy It’s so basic and simple isn’t it, write the letter, send the email, make the call, take the test, propose, get the tattoo, go for your run, lose 10 lbs, profess your love…

Just do it ~Nike.

I’ve heard a lot of chatter lately about what friends ‘want to do’ and what they ‘actually do’. There are those who ‘ Just do it’ and there are those who watch others ‘Just do it’.  It’s not that difficult to be the one doing it.  I have friends who ask me regularly how do I get motivated to run 5 days a week?  I am not always motivated but I put on my shoes and walk out the door and do it!  It’s that easy with anything you want to do, if you really wanted to do it, you would be.  So Quit complaining about it and Just do it !

What’s holding you back?

Another Great Nike Ad~ enjoy!

Okay, one more I couldn’t resist Michael Jordan’s “Failure Ad” ~

So if Michael Jordan can fail and be known as a success what are we all waiting for!
