If you don’t already know me, let me begin by saying that I am all about freedom of expression and experimentation when it comes to the Arts. That being said, I was a little exasperated recently when a strange pink and black substance appeared in the back of my car, the car I gave my daughter free reign to drive whilst I was out of town for a few days.
Mystery solved when I was going through some photos left on my memory card. Seems a little art project happened when I wasn’t looking. Here’s the incriminating evidence I found… ( she and a friend photographed the experiment in order to show her ‘process’ to the instructor)

The point of this project/art experiment, as I was later told, was to see what kind of design would be created by the action of the ball rolling around on the canvas and through the wet paint. Problem was, the ball also rolled around in the boot of my cute little CRV and now I’ve got a permanent Jackson Pollockesque Modern/Expressionist masterpiece to greet me every time I load in the grocery bags. My jumper cables didn’t escape untouched, nor did a favourite black hoodie that has now been destroyed. All in the name of Art. Kids. Gotta love ‘em.

Ah, creative art. How can you be mad at that? Ha ha!
Our kids are so ahead of us in so many ways but then they miss the obvious “put the project inside a large open box first” step and it makes you wonder.
Luckily you’ve turned it into my first giggle of the day so I thank you both.
Your daughter and the ball were simply thinking outside the box, or should that be outside the canvas?
Yes, these are the moments we’ll fondly look back on when the kids are out on their own and we somehow start to miss the little grubbers!
