Mandalas: Language of the Soul
“We are all circles on the great Mandala, and by changing the intensity of color, we clarify the fullness of each circle. Every soul is a circle with a unique combination of color and intensity”.
Mandala Artist Paul Heussenstamm
Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘circle’ or ‘wholeness’, and is an artistic representation of the organizational structure of life itself. The act of creating a Mandala is believed to be meditative as well as beneficial to one’s mental and spiritual health. They’re also a joy to look at… Lyrically beautiful in every way.

These examples were all done by Mandala Artist Paul Heussenstamm. I’m going to try doing one of my own today and I’ll post the results here tomorrow. If you’d like to try one of your own, the rules are simple. Start with a large circle. Draw a smaller circle in the center and then another one halfway in between the outside one and the inside one. Follow your inner artist and just begin filling in the spaces with whatever you want: shapes, fruit, people, symbols, colour, words… anything that comes to mind and inspires you to create. Enjoy the moment. I’d love to see your results if you’d like to share! ~ jacquie@taracronica.com
