Through a Dog’s Eyes

Tracy’s last post was a tough one for those of us who have also recently lost a beloved pet.  The love these animals share with us is so pure.  I am always touched by how dogs are such extremely trusting beings attuned to their owners’ needs and by how much they aim to please.  So, to lift our spirits and celebrate our four legged companions, I thought I’d share this sweet video with you today.  I warn you…major cuteness ahead.

If this video touched you as much as it did me, you may also be interested in the book “Through a Dog’s Eyes” by Jennifer Arnold

A stirring, inspiring book with the power to change the way we understand and communicate with our dogs. Few people are more qualified to speak about the abilities and potential of dogs than Jennifer Arnold, who for the past twenty years has trained service dogs for people with physical disabilities and special needs. Arnold has developed a unique understanding of dogs’ capabilities, intelligence, sensitivity, and extra-sensory skills. Her training method is based on teaching dogs to make choices—as opposed to following commands—through kindness and encouragement rather than fear and submission, and her results are extraordinary.

  1. Awww…how heartwarming Bonnie ! Thanks for sharing, and I’m going to get the book!
Can’t wait to get Ginger certified as a “therapy dog” in the new year and take her to care homes, the hospital etc. I know she will make others’ days just a bit brighter. 🙂
